I personally don't think the flames should be buyers right now, sell off guys like cammy stempniak, stajan and maybe even wideman and hudler but at this point I don't see a point in rushing the rebuild and giving away top prospects or draft picks... Although jokinen is on the market, 1st rounder for jokinen again?

I really don't understand Torts to be honest. Is he trying to one up Patrick Roy from earlier in the season to get the players on his side? If so then alright, if not then you are a (frank)ing idiot.

More or less how I feel...though this all depends on how Burke feels. Does he pull another Kessel type deal for the Flames, or does he learn from this and keep his higher draft picks and remain patient. I personally hope for the latter.

I agree that it would be difficult to work out a deal for Kadri, but Gardiner? I think an opening night roster two seasons from now of Giordano-Ekblad, Brodie-Gardiner, Smid-Sieloff would be awesome (lots of truculence).

What does Nonis really expect for Kadri? I don't see why they'd want picks at this point to be honest. Shouldn't he be using Kadri and Gardiner to get some legit NHLers?

I thought it was great!!!

I love the irony of Bieksa not dropping the gloves with Westgarth, when all the Canucks fans were complaining about Nolan not dropping his mitts with Sestito last week but then all of a sudden he's willing to tangle with Smid!!!

Anyway, the comments from Mr. Baseball or whatever....who cares, this has nothing to do with why hockey is considered a minor league sport....I think league revenues show the game is stronger than ever, even though I'll admit that it's just not meant for some markets. People love boxing and MMA, a couple a quick hockey scraps is nothing.

Oh a Kassian is the real puss.....suckering Bouma then won't drop em with O'Brien.....pure D-bag

There is zero chance, in my opinion, that Nonis wants picks/prospects for Kadri. If they move him, they need a centerman coming back or some solid defensive help. Either way, experienced player(s).

That's what I would think to.....

If the Flames could some how move some vets to get either Kadri or Gardiner i'd be pumped. If they dumped some picks and prospects i'd be less happy. I do think both those players will be great NHLer's though.

And I agree with Colin when saying Gardiner could be had for less.. maybe Glencross and someone for him? I'd be all ears for something like that.

Embarrassing. Bob acting innocent but he knew damn well what he was doing. But mostly its on Torts for accepting then blowing up.

Hartly should be fined. Torts fined and suspended.

Anyone thinking it was "great" especially on hockey day in Canada is juvenile.

Uh - yeah...that would be nice to watch. Though I still dont know if the Flames want to be one of the teams looking to grab a Kadri/Gardiner. Even if Jake will be cheaper, the Flames will be giving up an asset or two of their own...there will be no vet or player "dumping" to acquire these guys.

Would they look at Wideman for Gardiner as the main pieces being swapped?

You cant criticize people for their opinions, though. For me, I watched a hockey game which got my heart pumping and created a ton of discussion/debate. It was entertaining to watch and despite having a potential negative image for those who are no more than fair weather fans, or what have you, it doesnt happen often.

No one thinks less of baseball because of the "brawls" and collar bone breaking charges which break out from time to time...I enjoyed it for what it was. Had I been invested in the sport, perhaps I would have a differing opinion, but I watch/play hockey for its entertainment purposes, and I was entertained.

Ya i'm wondering if Hudler, or Wideman, or Glencross could be used to pry Gardiner somehow, especially if the Flames retained some salary and tossed in another asset.

Wouldn't make sense I don't think. Wideman is a better player. TO would have to sweeten the pot quite a bit. And I don't think TO can handle the cap difference.

I agree on Gardiner, but the new problem that is arriving for them is Bolland coming back and the cap becoming interesting. If they can't get Bolland in without waiving someone they are going to have issues moving 875k worth of Gardiner for a bigger contract.

I doubt it...they couldnt afford the contract for one. They have enough offensive type guys, despite the fact they they arent getting goals from the backend.

Do they have any plugs the Flames could take back to offset the salary? Dion?

With Bolland back/healthy however, it could make moving Kadri that much easier.

I'm not talking about taking fighting out of hockey. But Hartley claiming it was innocent is bull. The talking started as soon as they were on the ice. It was pretty clear they were instructed to me. Off the opening face off like that is beer league.

debatable...but some argue Clarkson and his 5.25M. Though I maintain that they need to be patient with him...Leafs fans thought they got a new version of Crosby when they grabbed him
