Isles need to bring in veteran D to help guide this kids and teach them better than what this coaching staff is doing, or else these kids talents will be ruined.... - Ur Not Me
Agreed. I have no faith in Thompson or Capuano helping their development. You only have to look at our defensive strategy to figure that out. |

our passive defensive play has irritated me all season. It's not bad enough that we lost LV, Strait and Hamonic for a while, and played Carkner, Martinek and Ness in their place, but I would compare our current defensive strategy to the prevent defense in the NFL, but without safety support over the top. We let every team set up on the perimeter, don't pressure them, and then when they make a play into the slot or a good shooting position we don't prevent that either.
Oh, and Dan, keep up the good work sir.

Another great blog Dan! Forgetting the head coach for a second, the Isles need a very good and well respected former NHL dman on that bench that can work with kids like Puloch. Thompson does not close to cutting it. |

He still hasn't registered a point. He plays like 15 second shifts. |

The fact that Jeff Carter was actually availalbe and traded twice a year ago really is amazing. |

Yeah, we have Austria's goalie and Slovakia's defense. |

The Flyers win the Mike Milbury stupid move of the decade trophy for moving Bobrovsky. The guy is a vacuum. If we only had a goalie that was anywhere near that good. |

Also, as you can see, Halak would be about as good for us as he is for Slovakia, and for the same reason. It's hard to play goal when four of your own guys screen you, no one hits anyone, and you can't smother a rebound if your life depended on it. |

How in the (frank) can anyone say with a straight face that Okposo not only belongs on this team but that he'd be one of their important players? |

Brown is useless- that's why he is taking penalties, because he's slow. Okposo is better than him. He's a garbage picker like Moulson, which makes him useless on the huge sheet. That said, I still think Canada beats either of these teams. |

Yep! It's not as easy as the Isles just getting another goalie. Would take a very special goalie with this lousy D and system. |

Can someone please explain to me what exactly just happened? How come the order was the way it was? |

In international, it's something like after the first three you can use whoever you want as many times as you want. I never really liked that format, but I can see that it does make for a good folk hero story like today. |

Brown's good in the trenches when you need him though. The only player I was really shocked got picked over Okposo or Ryan was Wheeler. And the only time I saw him today was when he took a penalty. |
