While I'm a long time Leaf fan... I had the good fortune of attending a few games in Quebec City. It was a shame when they lost that franchise... particularly given what happened with them when they got Denver.

I'm not so sure. Who do you move back to the Western Conference? The East has 16 teams. The West has 14. Seattle makes 15. In order for QC to be in the league as an expansion team someone in the Eastern Time Zone would have to move to the West. I don't think you can automatically say it would be Columbus because then you have divisions to re-align too.

It makes more sense to put another expansion team in the West. QC would be more likely to get a team via relocation. I won't even speculate on that topic.

Although the taxes are still high in Quebec, the Canadian dollar has rebounded since the Nordiques relocated.

It's actually going back down again. Down .10 since last year. If it keeps falling it would make things difficult on QC as far as obtaining a team goes.

It would be great to see the Nordiques come back. I was a fan back in the 90s and thought it inherently unfair that the Avalanche won the Stanley Cup their first season in Colorado. That championship should have been Quebec's. However, putting reason over passion, it doesn't make as much sense logistically to put an expansion team in QC right now.

Would love to see a team in Quebec, but only as a relocation. There isn't enough talent to fill the teams out there now. No need for expansion for a long time IMO. Quebec would have been a better option than Winnipeg.
