I respect the hell out of Quinn, but would say not a HHOF inductee.
Unlike players, who are just 1 out of a roster of over 20+ players and can get in without a cup; I can't imagine a coach/gm who's never won it all can get in.
I can't understand how you get in as a builder if you never built a championship team |

Quinn's all-time record and list of accomplishments speaks for itself even without a Stanley Cup, in my opinion. He's a no-brainer HOFer. |

I hear what you're saying, but Quinn has been an excellent ambassador for the game on both the NHL and International stages.
How many Canadian Gold Medals (on multiple levelsl) has Quinn been a part of over the years? Olympics, yes; World Championship, yes; World Juniors, yes; Under 18, yes... There are your championship teams.
There are inductees who have done less. Quinn deserves to be in the HHOF too. |

Winning on the international stage is great, but coaching stacked allstar teams isn't the same as winning in the nhl.......also, he didn't build those teams.
The blog said he gets inducted as a builder, despite never building a championship team |

What you're failing to recognize is that one can still be a builder without winning championships.
Again, Quinn has helped promote and grow the game of hockey. He is hugely respected by his peers and by fans everywhere. Winning isn't everything. |

If you want to go to the HOF, which recognizes the greatest ever in each category, it's hard to justify putting someone in who didn't win.
There are tons of players who get knocked and penalized all the time cuz they never won.........I'm sure it counts WAY more with coaches and gm's.
I'm not gonna bother looking, but how many coaches and gm's do you think are in the HOF right now who don't have at least one cup? |

The problem with holding executives like Quinn responsible for their team not winning the cup is you don't take into account the moronic empty suits they had to answer to.
Unless they had complete control over all hockey decisions, something the empty suits will never allow, they are no more responsible for their team not winning it all than Marcel Dionne in Los Angeles. |
