Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Another Shutout Loss, Luongo Fallout, More Deals Today? After sending Roberto Luongo to Florida on Tuesday, the Vancouver Canucks look to remain active on Wednesday ahead of the 2014 NHL trade deadline.

So he has the green light if the offer is right? Who decides whether the offer is right?. Ownership? So he has the green light to make the trade, as long as he checks in to see if ownership gives the green light?

Because the offers aren't good enough.

You're hoping Gillis takes whatever low-ball offer is best?

He would be stupid to move him at this point. I don't think he moves anywhere today.

He ain't getting traded today. Deal with it. It's a buyer's market for forwards, look at all the guys available on the few teams looking to buy. Face the reality and you won't freak out later guys.

Agreed. Unless for some reason a team gets desperate despite their being a good amount of top 6 guys available.

I find it so hard to believe Vancouver is waving the flag on the playoffs. Would Brodeur be on the radar as a relatively cheaper acquisition to try get there? Or is the D Sedin injury too much of a blow to playoff chances?

You look at the st Louis trade and you can see that Kesler should get a boat load but everyone thinks gillis is a wanker so he gets pulled over the coals.

That said Kesler is gone but gillis will of course wait until the last minute.

You're welcome to think that.

I took it as more lashing out at Gillis.

Brodeur is awful. How the hell does he help anyone make the playoffs?

Gillis & co definitely working on Kesler deal & think it can get done. Obviously, AQ has to sign off. that's a long way from not authorized

I get the feeling that this is going to turn into a "rip Gillis a new one" kinda thread, but I actually salute him.

It's rare that a GM sees a window closing and decides to rebuild. They usually just go into self-preservation mode, making a series of trades that sacrifice the future for the present.

I'm sure that a lot of Canucks fans are going to think that I'm just trolling here, but I sincerely feel this way.

Gillis is making the tough decisions.

Taking a shot at that Rossi guy. I love how that guy actually believes he's a Canuck insider now
