Flyers represent the trap game for a lot of these teams that they are about to face... here's hoping they get overlooked by more than a few of them.

Just get into the dance. I'm hoping as the 8th seed. Rather have this team on the road.

I hope we get second seed and get to beat the Rangers in round 1. Dunno why but I feel that we have the best chance against that team.

I see a few good things in this insane schedule.
It gives Emery a few more days to heal.
Doesn't let them (or the fans) sit and dwell on any losses.
Let's us figure out pretty quickly whether or not this team has the chops to go anywhere in the play-offs.

If the Flyers miss the playoffs for a second consecutive year, one would think there would be some pretty drastic changes next year.

Crazy poop goes down even in the years when they actually make the dance... so yeah, probably a whole lot of crazy coming up.

This team is capable of playing at a high level.

If they're up on their skates for the next 2 weeks, they'll be firmly entrenched in the playoff picture.

The talent is certainly there. The pieces are there. Let's see if they can stay out of the box, and keep playing with that resilient attitude that not many other teams have. Even the Blackhawks.

No reason this team can't bang out 6+ wins in regulation over the next 12 games.

That is exactly what they need. The back-up goalie curse. Or as I call it the Charpentier (former Caps goalie) curse.

It should be an interesting summer one way or another. I thought they would make the playoffs, but the schedule is simply brutal. If they do get in the tournament they will be dangerous. They will certainly earn their spot.

Its intense. Even for the best teams in the league that schedule would be hard.

Its been a real up and down season, challenging. I would genuinely like to see them make it in, and the playoffs essentially begin now. Can they do it?

If they do not, you almost cant fault them as a team, but have to hope.

I hope they dont make any drastic changes. That is exactly why they are in this position in the first place.

Stay the course. Add a few solid guys and keep letting the young guys build.

Just the sheer amount of games, and the level of play they will have to achieve is intense.

Not to mention that Mason cant play every game in that stretch. A hot goaltender, would make this gauntlet a lot easier.

Yep. Right now they only have one goaltender. Not much confidence in Emery to provide anything down the stretch due to injury/rustiness/caliber of opponent etc.

I think some fine tuning/tweaking is all that needs to be done. We all know they need that # 1 horse on the blueline. Unfortunately that player isn't obtainable without giving up a King's ransom and creating other holes.

If they do miss the playoffs, I certainly expect Hextall to get elevated to GM.

No doubt, the Flyers road to the playoffs is gonna be a long tough haul.
However, they almost always play Pittsburgh well and I think they take at least 2 out of 4 points this weekend. Also by the time they play Boston, the Bruins will be locked into 1st or 2nd in the conference and may not be as focused as a team still trying to get in. The same may also apply to St. Louis.

Either way, I think they will need at least 93 points, and possibly 95 to guarantee a spot, so they will need to go say 10-5-2 to lock up a spot.

Yup, as Ringo Starr once said, "You know it don't come easy"

If the Flyers can manage a 10-5-2 mark with what is left on their schedule, I think they would have to be a legit Stanley Cup contender.
