Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Comparing Performances, Who Should Be the Fall Guy? All eyes will be on John Tortorella as the Vancouver Canucks practice at Rogers Arena on Friday in the wake of Mike Gillis' strong words from his Thursday radio address.

I think the first two poll options are the same, just switched around?

I want an MG goes, Torts stays option.

Just curious, but why do you prefer Torts over MG?

Knowing this site and the fact that many non-Canuck fans will vote, I expect the third choice to be the runaway winner. I'd keep MG unless someone like David McNab can be hired.

Why? I can't see any positive from Torts staying?

That option should be renamed "I want Aquilini to run this team"

It ignores the undisputably bad moves like the Mats Sundin signing and the Keith Ballad trade

- Carol Schram

Sundin wasn't all bad... Thought I heard people credit him for some positive influence over Kesler and the Sedins and the transition to their leadership roles.

Ballard wasn't all bad, just AV's whipping boy.

I thought including Grabner as a toss in for Ballard was the biggest mistake he has made and not resigning Torres or similar player. And I guess the whole Schnieds - Lou result wasn't great either.

I am not sure if the good out weighs the bad for Gillis. It is hard to know what moves were available/offered. Many on here admit they would have made the Booth trade and that hasn't been so great

Trading Nonis' junk(Patrick White) for Ehrhoff was great too. Booth and Ballard trades look much worse in hindsight, I gotta question these pro scouts recommending Booth, Barker, etc in recent years.

It may be the best option short term for FA to realize he doesn't have the chops.

It’s just coming to a head. During the course of the season Gillis could say/or not what he wanted. His own words are “this is a results based business”. Hiding behind words, blaming the CBA, injuries or the way the game has changed is over, time to pay the piper.

Although I think Luongo is a good tender, I'm thrilled with him being gone. It was time to turn the page.

So who's the next coach? Does the gong show limit the number of men who'd accept getting into the situation that is the present Vancouver Canucks?

And let's not discount the fact that what gets said publicly in the media rarely equates to what gets said and decided behind closed doors. Players are coached by PR reps to give bland, identical responses to the media. GMs are coached by lawyers.

Workin' on getting Pete Carroll cloned but there are too many GD hoops to jump through in this country. Maybe one of VANTEL's ladies can recommend a good lab in the Philippines.
