Seems to me that Berube was more concerned about matchups in game 1; some of the players' ice times were out of whack.
Maybe rolling 4 lines would be an option on Sunday. That'd at least be different. |

I would also try doubleshifting Giroux and Voracek on other lines to get some favorable matchups for the Flyers. However Bill is right, the best way to win this game is to establish a consistent forecheck and force the Rangers to react to us.

i keep hoping they can flip a switch and play like they were playing for that 10 day stretch at the start of the "deadly dozen"......i'd even take the rags throwing a clunker but i don't see that happening......at least not to them. |

Bill you are a busy man right now, thanks for the effort. I just wish the boys in orange and black put in half the effort and passion you do.
Tale of two teams is exactly right. I have to out that on G, since he is the captian. Very frustrating. |

I would think so. Is it possible that Philly can come back from an 0-2 hole? Obviously yes, but it would be a huge uphill climb. Just for their own psyche I would think the Flyers need to bury the stigma that they can't win at MSG.
The Rangers having the last change allowing AV to match Girardi & Mac against the Giroux line is/has been huge. |

This is the game that, IMO, decides the series.
If the Rangers win. They go into Philly knowing that all they need is a split and it's pretty much over and even if they lose 2 on the road, all they need to do is keep winning at home and they still move on to the next round.
If the Flyers win. Well the whole 9-0 Rangers mystique at the Garden goes right out the window and the Flyers confidence soars. Plus the Rangers would have to be thinking that anything less than a split in Philly and we are done.
Gonna be a fun one! |

Oh man what a morning. Son chokes on a goldfish (the food, not the animal), knocks over a bowl of fruit loops, pokes me in the eye, and farts in my face.
And that was all before 8. The Flyers have to win tomorrow, or there will be hell to pay. |

Thanks Bill. I just don't see a "killer instinct" with this team. It seems that during most of their wins they appear to sit back, and ride out the win. It would be nice to see them play a solid 60 minutes, and dominate in a win. I agree that when the skate, and actually get someone to the front of the net, they generate some scoring chances. However, when the passing gets cute, or blind, then the offense seems to die. The forwards seem to be my biggest question. Yes, the D is not the greatest, but if they aren't helped by the forwards then the D usually becomes more of a problem. That goes for the goalies as well. Our goalies are good, and much better than in the past, but if they don't get any support, they can wilt or get frustrated. So, the team had better generate more shots with guys going to the net. In addition, they should keep their feet moving, and put in a 60 minute effort. They have to learn that nothing is a given during the playoffs, and that coming back in the 3rd period is a lot more difficult. |

When you don't have home ice in a series, there has to be one win on the road. I don't care if it's game 2, 5, or 7 as long as we hold serve on home ice. MSG is a tough place to play with crappy ice. But I'm not counting them out if they go down 0-2.
I'm more concerned with how they play. If they continue to be frustrated and unable to enter the zone effectively, it won't matter. Time to step it up and execute boys. |

I think you guys get this one tomorrow, then split in Philly, home team wins from there, hence my prediction from the outset, Rangers in 7.
I expect more emotion from the Flyers, but they know the Rangers are Coached & disciplined well, they don't go much for the after whistle stuff & get engaged in scrums. |

I picked Flyers in 6. If they win tomorrow, I still think that is what happens. If the Rangers win tomorrow, I think they win it in 5 |
