Doesn't surprise me on Kesler.

Hoping Bowman is looking elsewhere. They need more then just a bottom 6 forward IMO.

I don't see a center on the roster that wouldn't cost a lot to give up

Zack Smith would be a very nice addition, have watched him since jr and hes a good Saskatchewan boy something the hawks need. and his cap hit is very nice.

Someone posted this morning that Wilson (Nashville) might be part of a Spezza offer. I thought but that is another Zack Smith on a team that is already loaded with centers. Maybe Chicago is a fit.

Starting to wonder just how expensive Kesler is going to be?! I mean Chicago has a lot to work with and if they're bowing out, it will be interesting to see if Kesler actually goes anywhere.

I think they have anothe Luongo situation on their hands, hold onto him too long asking for a kings ransom, in the end they will get much less than some of the previous offers.

Greening is a very nice player. Thompson in Tampa has been brought up the last couple of years near the deadline. Not that it would happen but if the Hawks moved Sharp and Oduya then the could bring in Spezza, Greening and Thompaon...not saying that would be the deal but would fill some holes

Spezza to the Hawks is shockingly doable. He has a cap hit of $7m and an actual salary of $4m. Murray would have no difficulty taking back 1/2 the cap hit and salary. So, he can take back salary (eg Sharp plus another player) that would result in a net
cap saving of $6m for the Hawks.

Hawks want to get tougher not softer, while Spezza has a tonne of skill hes lacking in both grit and heart.
