Obviously an Hour forty nine minutes is the longest podcast commitment in the entire world BUT being there is so many moving pieces to address this week and it was our first out of the gate we put alot of conversation and ideas into this one.
I am very interested to get your feedback besides I look/sounds like a Jerk because I am very aware of that! haha |

Ahh, c'mon don' t be so modest! You sound and look like a tremendous jerk!
I only got to through the first 5 or so minutes. But I agree with the stuff on Vanek, if he'll go for something around 3 years $6 million, or even 5 years $5 million I'd be inclined to say yes. Hard to believe he would settle no matter how bad he allegedly wants to play in Minny, but I'd take either of those deals.
I'll report back when I finish watching the entire pod. |

One thing I disagree with you and Derek about, is in regards to Zucker not being able to succeed on the 3rd line. If you have Parise-Koivu-Coyle and Vanek-Granlund-Pommer in the top 6, that potentially leaves a 3rd line of Zucker-Haula-Nino, which I think would be an extremely dynamic line. The biggest question would be how defensively sound that line would be, as all 3 players have had issues getting back on the forecheck (though with Haula's speed, rarely is he caught out of position).
Having said all that, I think Yeo is more comfortable with Cooke on the 3rd line and see Zucker spending the majority of this season in Iowa, if he remains a member of the Wild. |

I would LOVE to have a SKILLED 3rd Line of Zucker/Haula/Nino next year BUT I dont believe Yeo would commit to that which is a shame. Even last year I thought NO WAY Brodziak & Cooke shouldbe on the 3rd line but there they were cemented nearly all year.
It is alot about who Fletcher adds and deployment in my opinion. You could still have a Cooke/Brodziak/BulmerOrFontaine 4th line deployed in a defensive stopper type role rather than just limited 4th line minutes.
Honestly who knows with Yeo. I think we all kinda feel like he finally gave in on the stubborness during the playoff run with regards to line combos and roles but who knows.
Lets all hope they PASS on Shawn Thornton and Willie Mitchell no need to junk up the bottom of the roster like was done with Rupp and others! |
