I don't think we're keeping Stastny. I'm surprised how sad I am about this because nearly 100% of the time I think he's not worth his salary. Now that he may be moving, I want the ownership to fork over the money.
Who knew that I liked him so much deep down inside? |

Time will only tell on these late round picks. Last one we had was Wolski. It's not like last year... |

I agree...
Just remember the 4 years before this year. Stastny was nearly transparent and everyone wanted him to be traded.
We can recover from the loss of Stastny, he is not the be all end all. He is no longer the best (or 2nd or 3rd or 4th best) player on the team.
Life goes on, we will be fine.

I don't doubt Pierre. I'm sure several teams have contacted the Stastny camp. If he resigns (for a favorable deal) then good, if not, no worries. |

I'm happy with the pick, solid prospect and I like that the avs and stastny are still talking.
I was mostly surprised we offered a pap and picks deal dor Neal. I like that the new managent isn't afraid to be agresive in their moves. Good sign that they are being proactive and have a plan implemented.

Yeah for sure... I'm just going by what Doug McLean said today on Hockey Central at Noon. He's been good source this offseason so far. |

Agreed. However true those rumors are regarding the offers the Avs made for Neal, I'm glad we didn't get him. Not a far. Likewise happy to see they're being proactive though, couldn't be a better time to be an Avs fan.

A few more days and all this will be resolved. I'd like to keep Stastny, but not for too much money.
Everyone remembers this past season, when he played with talented wingers. I try to remember the 4 prior seasons.
The bottom line is we would all love to keep him, but not for 6+. |

True , True .... Just not to sure if Mack is ready to center a top 2 line yet . But everything will be solved soon |

Thats not really an issue. We have options, Keep MacK on the wing and use Duchene, ROR and Mitchell as the top 3 centers, sign a winger/and/or trade PAP.
Seriously, everyone should calm down about losing Stastny. |

I didn't mind the idea of Neal over pap
But I really like the bleakley pick, I'm glad that we got him and to part with that pick for Neal doesn't seem too great of a trade now |

I wish we still had a 2nd, don't really see the point in the Berra trade.
Still need to sign Barrie, sort through the ROR mess, sign Elliot and grab a top 6 winger, 1 or 2 bottom 6 forwards, and 1-3 d-men.
Lots of work to do. Too much focus on Stastny IMO. |

Elliott and Barrie will get signed, not enough "show me" yet to get a significant raise. .. ROR is gonna be a process that won't get done over night .... and If you loose Stast to say Dallas, StL or Minny .....come on man... thats not gonna sit well in Denver. You wont get a #1 or #2 D man unless you trade for them and give up talent cuz teams just aren't giving those types of players up. There's Niskenen ... but you'll have to over pay for him, 6 to 6.5. #3 or #4 Dmen are there and the Avs will probly take a hard look at a few. Its's a process that's going to take time for all those problems to pan out. The Avs must still really believe they can get Stastny at they're home town discount even if it means a little more term... nothing wrong with it. In Sakic and Roy we trust! |

Grab a top 6 winger??? Ror Landy Tangs P.A or Mack (stast comes back) not a whole lot of room for a top 6 winger. We need better bottom 6 players... no more cliche and Brody. Need a couple players with size and can put the puck in the night from time to time. |

If Stastny plans on going to STL then you have to match the offer, anywhere else let him leave.
The bigger issue is RoR. If he makes it to Arb without a long term deal then he is 99% traded at the TDL of his last year on contract as he will be a UFA and the Avs cant risk this again.
I think that is what makes it so painful, losing Stastny would hurt the now but help the future, however losing RoR (through eventual trade via arb) will hurt the long term, so it sets the Avs back in all area's after we had a fantastic year.
VERY glad we didnt trade for Neal, the guy is awful and NSH will realize that pretty quick.
Bleakley was a great pick for what the Avs needed, was hoping for Vrana but he went way high.
FA this year should be interesting. |

If the Avs goalie coach can turn him into a competent back up then it will be worth it. This is a super weak draft. If not then it was a rough trade. |

Let Statsny go somewhere else. He only had good 2 seasons and that happened on contract years.... Not my type of player A far cry from his father which I grew up watching. Trade ROR too! this guy is a cancer. Build around Mac K, Duchene and Landy and save the 12 millions dollars for great additions on wings and D. |

I was assuming Stastny was gone when I made that statement. So slide ROR or MacK back to center and you've got Landy, ROR or MAcK, Tanguay as your legit top 6 wingers. Everyone knows PAP is likely to be dealt and I don't think any of us like seeing Ginner on the top 2 lines. So, yes, IMO an addition top 6 winger would be helpful. (IF Stastny leaves).
Definitely agree with you as well, need some bottom 6 help. I wouldn't mind Boyle. |
