Really? With all those NHL games under his belt you're sure he is a homerun? |

Because we can't evaluate the quality of a pick without NHL games. I see.
It was a fantastic pick. He's a great fit stylistically and in terms of a timeline for NHL appearance. On the outset of it this has all the makings of a great pick.
We are projecting of course. Doesn't mean we can't call it a score in the first round. |

Of Course you can be optimistic, why wouldn't you? Just don't get arrogant.
I remember Alex Daigle too. |

Lauri Tukonen.
I think you have to take every prospect with a grain of salt. You can be excited, you can project, you can say it was a fantastic pick at the time (Which is what I am doing here), but the journey to actually becoming an NHLer starts now. Who knows how that goes. |

Don't be too concerned about that point total. Kempe has been playing in the SHL with grown man. At age 17 he was the youngest player on Modo's senior squad.
More importantly, they severely limit minutes for younger players in the SEL. The kid the Caps picked, Vrana, averaged 7 minutes a game last year. I'm sure Kempe saw right around that much. |

Yup. 3rd/4th line minutes. Nothing north of about 10-11 a game usually. |

Agreed, sir.
The thing with this draft, is there are no certainties. No doubt, stars will emerge, but we wont know who they are for a few years... |

There we go, let's put that lovely "Potential" word in the title to clear up any confusion.
I wouldn't want anyone thinking I'm writing the kid in for a 40/40 season already. |

He lists his favorite player as Gaborik and favorite actor as Tom Cruise. He should be able to meet both being an LA King lol

Doesn't LA have Edmontons 3rd from the Scrivens deal?
I thought because LA won a round in the playoffs that the conditional 3rd became a 2nd?
Also is it Columbus option? Because if not why wouldn't the Kings give them the 60th and keep next years 2nd which would be a better pick unless LA wins the cup again
I thought LA traded
Frattin
Tor 2015 2nd from Bernier deal
Conditional 2nd or 3rd that became a 2nd due to conditions being met? |

Jason. Ek is speculating Mike Richards is still in play. Have you heard anything? - arh777
I've always gotten the impression that Lombardi has a small core of untouchables, and that Richards isn't one of them. That said, from the moves I've seen him make over the years, I wouldn't expect to see him go without pieces of equal value coming back. I don't think he'd ship him off just for the sake of clearing cap room. He's like Greene, with a high leadership value, which is hard to put a price on. |

A home run? Ok so we're assuming he's way better than Mario Kempe then....or wants to play in North America instead of in Sweden with his brother. |

What's the deal with the Vey trade for a 50th ? Was there a waiver issue? I don't get it. He won a scoring total in the OHL right? |

Vey was having trouble cracking our roster. He was initially thought of as a replacement for Stoll, but I don't think he showed quite the skillset or consistency to do so right now.
Good hockey trade because he will get a solid shot in Vancouver to have a larger role than he would ever have had here. Nick Shore has been tremendous so far in the minors, and Nikolai Prokhorkin is reportedly on his way to N.A. The latter will more than likely take Vey's spot as a top6 C. Weal has also been tremendous. You can kind of see how the odds have stacked up against him.
McKweon, in the meantime, is a puck moving RH shooting defenseman. The Kings desperately need that in the system right now. Good deal for both teams. |

It'll be hard to replace Stolls skills in the Dot. Hopefully Shore can be more consistent. I think Shore is prolly another year or two away anyways. Gives us more seat time with Stoll. |

Shore's progression has been outstanding and he is a more natural replacement for Stoll given his style. Vey is too...in between I'd say. More of a 2nd line C if anything. |
