Carol have you heard of any rumours floating around outside of twitter and HB?
If you are not in favour of signing Iggy which other top free agent forward are you looking at.
I like waiting for Krug from Boston he would be a nice option

I think they'll explore all options. Trade for a player on a team with cap problems, and spend the rest in FA. Whatever it takes to upgrade the lineup. |

Carole, please don't be making baby jesus cry...
I will have six coronaries, three tumours, five tic infestations, a few pox-on-me's, and a massive codpiece malfunction, if Miller signs here.
NO NO NO MILLER
Can't we get an anti-Miller protest going?
P.S. nice to see Gino interact with the fans, I wish him the very best |

Probably just Linden/Benning doing their due diligence like they did with coaching hires. I think they will look into everyone they have even a mild interest in
Edit: That being said, I think it would be a bad idea to sign him unless it was at one year |

Exactly - there are PLENTY of goalie possibilities, ones that can back up Lack but also get enough starts to take some of the load/pressure off him.
Just a few off the top of my head:
Thomas Greiss
Chad Johnson (although a lot of his success had to do with being on a great team)
Evgeni Nabakov (not really a fan but it seems he's still got some gas in the tank)
Ray Emery
Tim Thomas
JS Giguere
Jason Labarbara

This is true, I suppose they need to ensure no stone is left unturned. And as you point out, if the signing was for one year it might be a gamble worth taking. Frankly, though, I would rather go with Lack and find a quality back-up. It's not like there aren't any on the market. |

I'll add dozens more "NOs" to this. Stick with Lack. He was good until Torts overplayed him. |

This is just spitballing but there has been chatter from insiders for two months about Miller coming here.
The question is , is Benning bringing in Miller to be back up or starter. Things would have had to gone pretty South if they have convinced him to come here as a back up.
I think one of two things have happened. 1) Benning brought in Miller to be a mentor to Lack and relieve the pressure or 2) he has a trade and Lack is part of the deal.
I think Miller is here to bring stability and mentor |

Agreed and Agreed - it would be completely counter-intuitive to the new philosophy of implementing a youth movement |

I really don't like the idea of bringing in Miller, but, Lack needs a veteran guy like him to shoulder 30% of the load. If he comes in at a good price for no more than three years, I'm ok with that...although I won't like it.
We need a veteran goaltender though, Markstrom is not ready at all from what I've seen of him. Too many holes in his game for a big man. |
