how? doesn't he have to turn 27 or have completed 7 nhl seasons in order qualify as an UFA? or am i out of the loop? i haven't read the cba yet.... but it's a long off season this year so maybe i'll get around to it

Edler may get a four year extension by then. The Sedins probably a one or two year. Kane and Johansen will get the long-term deals at that point from the Canucks. Horvat, Shink and Jensen And Lack will be getting the 7 year deals from the Jets to keep their dynasty together. The Blue Jackets upset with their cup final loss will be hitting the UFA market hard, but will be locking up Markstrom, McCann, Virtanen, Fox and a large Russian to multi-year deals.

funny thing about the Sedin twins contract..... it ends in the 2017-2018 season... that's 14mil off the payroll for 2018-19.... just saying

Both are 22. I know the stats are a little skewed, given Kane's injury issues but, as mentioned, you know what you are getting with Gallagher whereas you WISH you knew which Kane is going to show up. Oh, and then there is that whole cap hit thing (Gallagher - $675,000 - but will get a nice increase next year. Kane - who will get a VERY VERY nice increase next year to $6,000,000 from his current $4 million + )

and I didn't mean Gallagher over Johanson AND Kane, but that I preferred Gallagher (you could say Kane-lite but without any of the bullsh*t and me-first attitude)
