Tough shoe to fill. Brodeur brought 3 cups and the most victories by a goalie in NHL history.

Cory knows he isn't suppose to be Brodeur. He just needs to be Cory Schneider. He does that and he will be fine.

Not really. It's the going rate for a top goalie. Plus when the cap goes up, the cap hit will only get better and better.

Unrelated, Boston really derped by letting Khudobin walk for nothing on an $800,000 contract. He's quite decent for that price.

for one with so little game time, yes, but it was a move that needed to be made.

Schneider has 13 less starts than Rask over the last four years and has better SV% and GAA on lesser teams. Did you criticize the Rask extension (more money and term) as well?

What lesser teams are you talking about? I only know of one other team he's played for and during his time with said team they were one of the best regular season teams two of those four years.

Please clarify.

Edit: unless you are including NJ as one of those 'lesser teams'.

Boston beating the nucks was a fluke the nucks were the best team but bettman hates Canadian teams

What? Boston won the playoffs but the numbers the blogger used was from regular season. Boston was the best regular season team last season but Cory was already with NJ.

If you are going to use his Canuck numbers that's ok but understand that he played on a team that was among the top of the league stats-wise. He had a lot of help from the team who played in front of him.

I disagree with the lesser team comment. It was wrong.

Saying all that, he's a great goalie and a great replacement for brodeur.

The Canucks teams were good, but I still would have taken the Bruins defense. Chara and Bergeron have each been the best shutdown players at their position recently.

Yes, but I think Chara's finally hitting that wall that all big men do. He didn't look so good in the most recent playoffs... Let's hope it is a trend.

I agree about Bergeron. Also, he's the only likable player on that team.
