This tells me a few things
1- If I'm the "new owners", I need that 2 years to make sure I'm actually the owner. With the Barroway lawsuit, one of the possible ramifications could be that if Chairman Wang is found to be in breach of an agreed upon deal, the court could enforce the sale to Barroway. If I'm these new buyers, I'm looking for protection and the 2 years gives them it.
2- Expect the Barroway lawsuit to be fast tracked to the a court date now that there is "another buyer".
3- Wang now has 2 years to back out of this deal too. We've seen it when he ran CA, and when negotiating in bad faith with Barroway... no deal is safe with Wang involved until he clears out his desk and is off the premises. According to some reports, he got an extra 100 million in this deal then he would have from Barroway. Do you really think he minds the $10 mill fee for renegging? Do you actually doubt he pulled out of an agreed upon deal? If Wang likes the way the Isles are moving financially in the next two years, he will have his crackerjack team of lawyers try to find the new owners in breach of the agreement so he can retain ownership. I guarantee it.
In an earlier diatriabe Dee disparraged Barroway for being a hedge fund manager. Dee, what is someone who has repeatedly done business in bad faith called? Answer- Charles Wang. |
