I think this is the first time that Braydon Coburn and "great" have been positively associated. |

My guess is Greene or Larsson |

Just to put a different spin on things,
I think that shows a big part of the problems the Devils had last season. They are not a deep offensive team. Certainly not as deep as the teams that are higher on that list. They need to have more balanced scoring. Not coincidentally the top teams on the chart are either A. Without argument the deepest teams in the league or B. Bad teams that need to have more offensive balance.
Taking nothing away from Jagr or Zidlicky, they each had very good seasons based on their standards. And certainly the Devils are better than the Flames and the Jets, I believe, however that has a lot to do with the net at the other end of the ice.
Quick side note, I hope they bring in Todd Bertuzzi for a look. Gives the 4th line a different look (thereby increasing the options on which forwards to move) and has some good shootout moves.

Especially bertuzzi. Just what we need another washed up player taking a spot from a younger player. |

Kevin Hayes to the Rangers, I knew I didn't like him, now I have even more of a reason.

Pretty sure age is going to have very little effect of shooutout ability. Perhaps none at all. Age effects skating ability, strength, and injuries more than anything. Joe Sakic could still had the best wrist shot in the game when he retired, and he played well into his 40's, I believe.

He was 1 for 7 last year, but the idea that he somehow isn't good at it anymore because he's old is just silly. He should certainly be good enough to compete with the likes of Steve Bernier and Michael Ryder.
Further, you'll note that my implication was quite obviously in the context of a camp tryout contract. If a younger player like Whitney or Matteau out plays him, so be it. The best player certainly deserves the spot. Competition is never a bad thing. However, to argue that he is not an effective shootout forward because of his age....would be incorrect. |

They already have 14 forwards with Carter waiting to be signed and Boucher and Matteau knocking on the door. How much competition do you really want?
Also you don't sign a guy purely for the shootout thats just dumb |

He'll fit right in.
Put him on a line with Clowe & Zubrus and watch shart hit the fan!
Well, for 10-20 games until Clowe gets hurt again I suppose. |

Your reading comprehension is poor. I didn't say sign him just for the shootout. I said he would certainly help in the shootout.
Then I said if Whitney, Matteau, or anyone else beat him out, so be it.
Boucher isn't knocking on the door. His strength on the puck isnt there yet. It will be another year.
For a team that's trying to work it's way back to the upper-echelon of the league I would prefer a lot of competition, actually. |

Alright, I'll bite, lets say you did actually say something about him besides that he's good in the shootout. I apologize why don't you reiterate why Bertuzzi would be a good idea other than the shootout because I obviously missed it in your previous posts.
And yes you want competition but 4th liners don't move you into the "upper-echelon" |
