also it shows how poor Holland has done in free agency and contract,
they have Weiss and Cleary sitting out. thats like 6 mill in cap space. Add in Kindl who they want to trade and its close to 10 mill. What a joke.
Weiss better get in the lineup soon |

Are you ever satisfied? Cleary is scratched and yet you complain about KH and wasted cap space...and kindl on second line I get but honestly what would you do? Put him with Quincey on the third pair and watch them get burned all night? Maybe his thought was to spread out the weaknesses and hope smith and DD can help them out..
Also nothing wrong with Anderson who has looked much better this year and can kill penalties... Plus no way Weiss is getting a fire lit sitting on the fourth line. If those guys earn their spot with hard work no reason Weiss should be given the spot just to hope he gets going.
Just let the games play out and for once offer some constructive suggestions or even anything positive. We could win the cup but you would still find something to complain about....it really dulls the feeds on here |

fact that they are trying to trade Kindl validates my argument. way to jump to conclusions.

Red Wings have to be the first team since Cap Era began to "healthy scratch" $7.4M worth of forwards (Weiss/Cleary) opening night. |

I have no choice to respond to you since no one else posts on here...so I only have your 6 senseless comments to choose from...
And as I've said before I don't disagree with everything you said but you never once offer any kind of logical solution to the problem...wimpy no matter the outcome you come on here and post some comment about cleary, holland with some sarcastic laughing face....instead of ever posting something that could deserve a logical conversation or debate
Which like I said I don't like kindl but putting him with our other sieve "Quincey" seems like a bad mix to me also...and instead of offering your suggestion you posted some irrelevant trying to prove you were right and I was wrong when I agreed with you not liking kindl |

Well... There is some good news if they are truly shoppoing Kindle. What a huge disappointment of a first round pick. I want to see what Ouellet can do in Detroit. He's been very good in GR where I've watched him play. I still think Sproul has just as much if not more NHL upside.
What the heck is Abdelkader doing the freakin' top line AGAIN. It's already been proven he's not even effective there. He belongs in the bottom six... Seeing Glendening on this roster still makes me want to puke. Rumor is that Nestrasil has officially made the team... he's out of waiver options. Nice to see him get promoted to Detroit... very effective player in GR (scores clutch goals). It will be interesting to see if they give Pulkinen another shot in Detroit.. probably not unless he gets an injury call-up.
Really going to enjoy some Grand Rapids Griffins games this year. I want to see Mantha play and see how well he adapts to the AHL. |

I just question if anyone wants kindl at that contract and it's likely no is the answer...but hopefully I'm wrong ...I'll take anything in return to get XO in the line up
As for Abby I agree mostly because I think nyquist should be up there...not really sure why he is sitting on the third line other than babs wants to round out the lines...but then someone will lose minutes and it looks like Gus which I don't like |

Do you not understand there is a difference between being unsatisfied and offering an opinion that is constructive and logical...instead of just blatantly whining on every feed regardless of the topic on hand?
After saying you are not concerned with my comments you continue to post about them and yet say I am the one fascinated with your comments...keep playing the "too cool to care card" lol totally working for ya |

this is quite the intelligent thread going on...
Having Weiss on the bench doesnt make much sense at all to me since he makes 5 mil a year and they NEED to get him going...BUT babs said the players that deserved to start after camp...will start. Weiss and Cleary both looked slow and awful with the puck during preseason so i couldnt agree more that they should be the odd men out tonight. Saying that, they have to give Weiss a shot of getting back into the lineup sooner than later.
Quincey was terrible in the first half of the season last year, but picked it up in the second half + he was able to play in all 82 games which only him and Miller I beleive were able to do. Quincey and Smith look terrible together because they turnover way to many pucks and get caught way to often. Putting Kronwall with Smith (Smith played his best hockey last year with Kronner), Quincey with Dekseyser (Dekeyser makes much smarter decisons with the puck) and Eriksson with Kindl (Eriksson is a more stable/steady D back there) until Oulette comes up would be an ideal way to spread out out assets/liabilities on the back end.
Oulette will be up soon enough due to inevitable injuries or hopefully a trade, so i don't think anyone should worry about Kindl playing a few games until he plays himself on or off the roster.
Datsyuk should be back next week....so all will be well. |

It's hard putting his 5 mil in the press box but ultimately he should be able to earn it in practice. He needs to show he can play better before he is put the line up...it's a tough situation between giving him a spot he doesn't deserve and letting his confidence rot lol
I do like your pairs on defence but I feel like doing it that way makes it hard to spread the minutes...they likely wouldn't want to give Ericsson the same minutes as kindl... But I don't disagree with your reasoning lol

Maybe Babcock thinks that doing to Weiss what he did to Tatar at the start of last season will get him going (which I don't think being scratched for the first 9 games or so did anything positive for Tatar). Playing on the 4th line would do nothing for Weiss either. Really odd that Babcock played Weiss all pre-season with AHL players that didn't have a lot of scoring potential instead of giving him good scoring wingers.
Ericsson likely wouldn't play the same amount of minutes as Kindl since Ericsson is a main guy on the PK and Kindl isn't. Those pairings have a much more balanced look on paper and from what we saw last season...and to some extent this pre-season. |
