Didn't a former Av have a 4 point night last night?

Avs and Canucks switched spots last year. They will switch back this year. All van players played under ability and most avs players played above especially the goalie

Well just an FYI, one of McEichal is ours...

It should be:
Minnesota has beaten Colorado in six of the past Nine meetings.

and yeah Colorado sucks right now. Played better on Saturday but I lost count of how many times they missed the open net.

They will lose in Boston and if they lose against the Leafs the season is over.

No further discipline is expected for #avs defenseman Erik Johnson.

I know it's early but just curious are this years flames playng like last years flames ? With heart and a never quit mentality ? that's really all you can ask for when you are a young team those young players will know how to play right where as some other teams young players are likely picking up bad habits on some of these teams where losing is the mantra for the year.

Now maybe Roy and management might start to realize their bottom 6, pairings are hot garbage and need to actually bring speed and youth into them to be competitive in this division.

A bottom 6 full of slow old grinders that are on the down side of their career won't get us anything. Guenin, and Cliche are the easy waiving moves. But Talbot and McLeod don't help and signed long term still.

Avs need Mitchell, Winchester, Redmon, that will help, but if we are going to play defensive disasters down there, why not Hishon, at least he will create offence.

Who is on your third line ? do you think a speedster like Brunner would be a good fit as a third line scorer ?

its been flip flopping the last 2 games, but its mostly made up of McGinn, Briere, and Talbot.

Mitchell needs to come back to Center that line, as sad as that sounds. I don't think the Avs need to acquire a forward, unless you want to take Talbot

We have to many as is Brunner has been a healthy scratch the first two games because Lou doesnt think he can play on the fourth line and despite not having a true star player we have 3 decent lines that he can't crack
Cammy-Zajac-Jagr
Zubrus-Elias-Havlat
Clowe-Henrique-Ryder
Ruutu-Gionta-Tootoo
right now Larsson, Josefson and Brunner have been healthy scratches for the first two games and Gomez is practicing with the team in a similiar situation as gange in boston untill we can move out a roster spot and make room for him lol I do think Larsson would be great for you guys and Roy would use him and be a great coach for him ( being a jr coach especially )

but what would you be looking for Larsson in return? Right now he seems like just a bottom pairing guy? I havent watched him in a long time so I don't know what his story is.

yeah Jesse Winchester, he played with the panthers last year, hes your typical safe 4th line guy who is good on the PK. More promise about him, according to some of the Sens guys, since when he was in Ott he was looking really good before concussions issues hit. Had 9-9-18pts last year in 52 games with the panthers last year

Hey if he played every night he would climb off that bottom pairing in a hurry. I can't think of a single first round pick who has been treated more poorly then Adam Larsson. He was the only first rounder in that draft to not get a signing bonus and he agreed to that had a great first year that got derailed by an injury and they wanted to dial him back ever since and he has been the coaches whipping boy ever since. He literally played himself onto the team the last two years but because we made salvador our captain he will never sit even though he isn't even an nhl caliber defense man anymore its a number game right now and when you have a Gelinas who is a pp beast and offensive threat all the time and a coach fav in Merril and now a very impressive Severson ( who I honestly would of taken on team canada over more then a couple of the guys selected ) it becomes difficult. You don't really want to have two defense man who are vets and the other 4 having not played 3 season so he is sitting right now. He needs to be moved and it's just been a mess the way management and coaching have handled the highest draft pick we have had since Neidermayer.

Hes sort of our version of Elliott, just a guy who gets constantly called up and down jus to be healthy scratched then slammed for having his progress derailed. If you want the kids to get better let them play, they aren't getting any better in the press box.

Elliott for Larsson probably doesn't seem like enough on paper but based on how each organization looks at them, wonder if they can build a trade around that.

Avs almost had Kulikov last season for McGinn and a pick but when they asked for Elliott they pulled the deal, so I have no clue how they value the kid.

Day after, cooler heads prevail. Roy and the Avs players clearly trying to enforce physicality on the ice to try to counter the speed and outworking of the Wild lines.

That being said, whether he hit with his elbow or not, after watching Johnsons hit over again, the main point of contact was Haula's head and Johnson clearly leaves his feet in a launch-like motion leading with his elbow.

Either way, not sure anything about the hit is defensible as a legitimate hockey play. That being said, it is what is and it's just one instance of many in what has become a pretty heated rivalry in the West. I'm satisfied with Johhson's on-ice punishment and anything or nothing else the dept of player safety deems fit to add on. Had Haula been injured I think I might feel differently but he was not so it's time to move on.

Value wise it might be close but like I said that's our strong point and we have Santini and Jacobs who should be good to I would love another pick (preferably a higher one ) not sure if we could get another first for Larsson but a second and a decent forward prospect would be acceptable I think. We have Boucher, Matteau and Quennville up front for prospects then it gets dicey lol

Outside Hishon and Bleakley Avs forward prospects are pretty terrible too,
Vincour might be an ok throw in, he didn't look too bad in camp, Carey was decent in his small Avs call up last year, guy can fly

You guys have 11 goals in two games, you obviously don't need forwards.

Quick Sakic, strike while the iron is hot.

I had interest in Vincour before he is 6'4 looked like he had skill. I really wanted Bleackly but have grown quite a bit on Quennville who looks like him might be a big time riser from that draft. How about you guys keep Elliot and Get Larsson and just give us your first
