I would say that offensively, the Bills were much better than they were defensively in the second half. But you're right, that officiating was terrible. It wasn't the reason they lost, as New England had scored on every possession in the 2nd half except for the kneeldown at the end, but if those offensive calls aren't made, Buffalo remains within striking distance until the very end, and then who knows what happens.

Kyle Orton needs to learn how to play in the first half.

On to the more relevant topic, I'm not sure if I'm glad or upset that the game is in the afternoon and I can't watch it.

still not convinced the bills have the proper coordinators, especially Hackett...marrone better start taking control and vetoing decisions that have mike Williams inactive and their best defensive players on the bench late in the game because of a rotation...

There's got to be more to the Mike Williams story. The guy was known to be as dumb as a rock in Tampa. Agreed, Hackett is in over his head.

Also, I'm pretty sure Orton vetoed Marrone in going for it on 4th and 2 from their own 30-whatever it was yard line to get the touchdown to pull them within 8.

i'm not sure...your oc comes up and says, this is how we're gonna attack the n.e. defense...coach says, "OK" and bam, Williams is on the bench...

it's marrone's ass that's on the line, he needs to do something

Needs to be a significant move here in the next 24 hrs, it's Marrone way to deflect the attention off of him (ex- Orton for Manual).

Bills:
- Spiller is a total joke. Get him out of here.
- The Bills need to stop running up the gut on first down all the time.
- Orton needs to start looking to see if Watkins is open no matter who is on him.
- The Refs definitely took the wind out of our sails yesterday.
- We have no one that can cover Gronk, really.

Sabres:
- Don't like seeing EK talk about Myers trade possibilities (hopefully he's wrong as usual)
- Excited about All Star Game/Draft talk. That's big for the city.
- My heart wants this team to win, but my brain is happy with the results so far

They are still a mess offensively.

Take away the 3 turnovers and it's a one score game until the end.

Either way, huge let down. Marrone should be let go at years end.

I'm also glad the training camp hero Chris Hogan got the nod over a proven game changer in Mike Williams. Effin clueless

Oh and it's game 3 and I'm in full defend Tyler Myers mode. What a weekend

Orton is better than EJ right now. The problem is that neither anywhere near good enough.

Agreed it kills me to see them start poorly just like last year Knowing their biggest issue is not having a player that other teams need to account/gameplan for and as a result opponents can play their game with ease. Say we do get a McEichel, I still think we need a huge trade to complement him. looking at the potential UFA's im not seeing much next year.

Sorry for the depressing thoughts tough weekend being in attendance for the bills and amerks games

"I said, 'We like Mike Williams. We expect him back and we expect big things from him,'" Whaley said. "But like anybody, if he gets us compensation worthy of a No. 1 wide receiver -- which he claimed he is -- then we would entertain it.

There was a lot of "take away this or that and it's a one score game at the end", such as the officiating as well. Don't get me wrong. They're far from great offensively, but we knew this was going to be the case going in.

And while, like you, I would like to see more of Mike Williams, I fail to call a guy who has never eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving and career high of only 11 touchdowns a "proven game changer". A good player, absolutely, but there was a reason Tampa got rid of him for so little. But, if that's part of what gets Hackett replaced as the offensive coordinator, then I'm all for it.
