Bill, glad to hear that you had a positive experience at the AAC and hope that maybe you squeeze in a few more this season (certainly more seasonable weather than last years visit.) I one hundred per cent agree that we in Dallas are very lucky to have Stepnoski on the Stars site and Heika at the Dallas Morning News covering the Stars. Hope that your wife is feeling better and you can enjoy the rest of your visit home in Tyler.

The injury to Nemeth was gruesome and is going to test the Stars young depth on defense although I believe that Jokipakka is NHL ready. I will be glad when the top six is stabilized with Spezza back at 2C - he is incredible with the puck on his stick and is certainly going to also improve the PP this year.

The Stars power play started to get in synch in Pittsburgh and it certainly carried over to Saturday's game. I also think that Jokipakka is NHL ready. He doesn't bring the physicality and shot blocking that Nemeth is capable of bringing but he is mobile and a pretty reliable coverage defender. He had a solid preseason, too.

Thanks for the well wishes! After the game on Saturday, a colleague and I stopped at an In-and-Out Burger (I couldn't convince him that Whataburger is more of a genuine Texas fast food institution) for a quick bite to eat and then I picked up some cold-and-flu meds to take back to my wife at the hotel. Yesterday, we went to the Dallas zoo with our daughter en route back toward Tyler.

I am going to enjoy the next few days at home before heading back to Philly. Tentatively, I plan to cover the Stars-Devils and Stars-Maple Leafs games at the AAC in December.

They shout "Star(s)!" at strategic times during the anthem.

Anthem singer, "Whose broad stripes and bright..."

Fans: "STARS!"

Anthem singer "...through the perilous fight."

Later, they shout "Star!" during the
oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave" part.

Interesting note, Umberger also cut Modano, guess he just doesn't like Dallas Stars.

Sure it's an accident but you can do a better job keeping your skates down.
