Q had 4 points last night so that's nice to see. 10 in 5 is a solid start for a two-way forward. - NJD Fan
I actually think he will be one of the biggest risers from last years draft. He looks miles better then Lemiuex and everyone was so butt hurt we didnt take him. To be honest I dont see the potential there Q is showing a ton of potential and 25 goals in your second season in the Dub is certainly not an easy task and to think how much he could build on that in his third year, Kid was the best pick we made that entire draft. |

You could argue he plays on a worse team but still here is his stat line and the O is a high power league where as the Dub has a rep of solid defense men.

The Devils need to come out flying here, they have got to get back on track.
Cammalleri back on the top line will help, it obviously wasn't as effective to have him on the second.
Lets go Devils!!! |

the 4th line was ruutu-josefson-gionta and i thought it was much better than previous games. gionta was a lot more effective on the wing then center. hopefully deboer can see the light |

you obviously don't watch Sens games. their D has been giving up shots but majority of them are not from anywhere near an area that would be considered a scoring chance. the D has actually been impressive so far. they should probably be 5-0, but a bad 2 minutes in their season opener lost it against Nashville.
Sens will be more worried about coming out rusty considering that they haven't played in a week. also, with everything that has happened in Ottawa in the past few days, the players could easily get caught up in the emotion of the pre-game ceremony to honour the fallen soldiers. |

Come out flying with Zubi Sal and Clow on the team. Come on Todd. The only way they will ever fly is between the games when a team is on the plane. Put Rico on the 2nd line and then we might see some results. Or switch Clow and Ruttuu. |

That Salvador vs Roussel fight last night was the best fight I've seen in a while. I don't think Sal fights often but when he does it seems like he just destroys anyone he fights. I'm talking non-stop haymakers and any punch that the opponent lands on him he gladly eats like it's nothing. |

It was a pretty decent fight. For all the poop I give him I thought he did very well lol and I agree if they both didnt fall over you might of seen a k.o from Sal. But at this point when he is doing this its because he knows the cries for him to be sat are being heard and its a last ditch effort to prove you can still do something at this level. |

Sal's best days are definitely behind him...but he's the captain. You can't healthy scratch him. |

And I read somewhere(I think Friedman) that Bleackley was a pretty big reason why Colorado's directer of scouting was fired recently because Roy was so disappointed with him and another prospect who escapes me |

I heard that to and its crazy because I really really wanted Bleackley. Kid is or was captain of his team and could score hit and fight I wonder what it is about that kid Roy hates. I am also not sold on Roy being this legend of a scout or gm or anything that doesnt involve playing goalie. He is being treated like one of the greatest minds in hockey already and I think its a little premature. |

Brandon is a top-5 team in the CHL. Barrie top-15/20, maybe. 7G + a point per game is pretty good, anyways.
Quenneville may end up being the better player, but it's not like Lemieux would have been a bad selection. |

Remember that game where Cowen was on for 11 scoring chances against and none for? I know he's not playing tonight, but don't tell me 0 of the almost 40 shots against per game are scoring chances. |

He wouldnt have but with all the questions around every single player we did draft I think its great that Q is standing out or looking as good as he is. Personally at the day of the draft or I should of said on the day of the draft I wouldnt have taken either of them. I am not scout but I would of taken that russian kid out of all the players available at the 30th spot. Today I am more then pleased with the Q pick, I havent really looked into who was available that we didnt pick for any of the other rounds so I wont comment on them. |

Speed kills. And NJ was completely outclassed last night. Schneider made some big saves last night, especially on Cole in the 3rd.
NJ needs to add some speed up front. The backend, despite the youth & Sal getting way too much TOI, has managed to get the puck out better than I expected & move it well.
Ottawa is a beatable team. But NJmay be able to pull it off
I can't remember the last time NJ carried play the way Dallas did last night. Maybe 2012? |

I hope so. We have been losing lately so its either a good time to play us or a bad time if we finally break the streak lol |

The media loves blowing poop out of proportion. I wouldn't want Roy as anything more than a goalie coach. |

Clowe is so hard to have an opinion on. I love his play around the net and on the boards, but there were a bunch of breakouts last night he couldn't keep up with cause they were moving too fast for him. shrugs. |

I agree. If I knew he would play every game this season then I forget about his speed as he finds ways most nights to be a positive contributer to the team. I think Ryder is the anchor on the line. what do you guys think about lines two and three looking like this
zubi ( I dont like him in the top 6 but I think I would be asking to much of pete to play him in the bottom 6 )Zubs- elias - Ryder
Clowe - Henrique - Havlat |
