who's a european player that's gone the same route? Euro league-->Draft-->USHL

what are WL's WJC odds? non-existent? playing in NA hurt him there?

It's rare, few are Daniil Tarasov a prospect for the Sharks, Ruslan Fedotenko way back in the (frank)ing day Martin Hanzal and Andrej Sustr.

Not many and not many signs of success. Most usually go to the USHL the year before their draft (Haula and Vanek) or simply go right from Europe to college.

As for WJC odds...probably not good this year. They have three returnees, an expected top-5 prospect in Kylington going for it and some older 19 year olds that are probably ahead of him (Dahlstrom, Hansson and Westlund).

Austin Carroll - Drafted 184 overall in 2014 - Currently tearing it up with Victoria in the WHL with 26pts in 19 games. And he's 6'4" 205lbs. Looking good!

Would you say that Kamenev's 7 points in 25 games lowers his projected ceiling as a top line forward (via Hockey's Future)?

I know.

Frenchie gets the joke, tired of it as he may be.

7 in 25 is pretty darn good for an 18 year old like him, but I've always felt his ceiling was as a second line centre even at the draft.

Nice write up.

Not a draftee but 2014 free agent signing Trevor Van Riemsdyk has looked amazing for the Hawks so far. Incredible poise and decision making for a rookie. He blew past a number of better rated prospects - some older like Johns and Dalbeck - to make the NHL roster.
