sounds like something that would happen to the Oilers.

While it was the most entertaining period of hockey i've seen in a while, it was crazy hard to stomach losing like that.

More entertaining than that collapse by the Leafs against Boston? I felt bad for the Leafs afterwards, but that was something else.

agree a 100%
not utilizing your best options due to a false sense of responsibility(i guess he thinks he owes them this kind of icetime due to their time with the club or smth) is just dumb.

also they are kind of predictable it seems just now on the pp so they are beeing shut down, adding a lack of skill (I think you can call it that) and bad luck does the rest.

why not go with the more offensive talented lines and maybe add some unknown surprises like rieder to the second pp to be bit more unpredictable is beyond me.

Tippet and the coaching Staff need to adapt. but I guess getting mcdavid or eichel is nice, too. ( we probable won't see them before 2020 though)

Some slumps could be avoided through utilizing different setups but not having a real first line to start with, well that will bite you in the butt over 82 games, scoring by comittee only gets you so far and is far from reliable (point in case: coyotes) Don't get ne wrong, I will cheer for every goal but not having a true scoring line that comes out with urgency and makes you feel that they are dangerous on the ice goes a long way to win quite a lot of games
. (especially close ones)
