I think the Flyers and Oilers match up well for a move. Maybe L.Schenn for Perron? I wuld like to move Coburn and Read for Eberle. I think the Oilers need a new mix

Thinking that they improve every year just because they get another first overall pick.

This team needs an identity and a real leader. Dallas Eakins is lost out there. They need a Hitchcock/Laviolette type of coach. That's how they will build a winning team.

Kevin Lowe needs to call a press conference so he can remind everyone how many Stanley cups he's won.

how many current Oilers were drafted by the team outside of the first round? how many quality players? i think that's a pretty good place to start. the only way to successfully round out your roster and supplement your high end talent with quality depth in today's NHL is by drafting value. signing guys like Pouliot, Ference, Fayne and Nikitin doesn't work. also, this is a franchise that doesn't take the goaltending position seriously. and when you're as defensively inept as they are, that's criminally irresponsible of their management team.

Lol....

He has nothing to do with it. I'm not a klowe supporter but he's not the problem. Removing him accomplishes nothing.

Nice one frenchie. Tending as a result of defence.
The rest of u? Meh. Same ole.

But as far as the perron for 1st line goes;
1. It's a Dreger rumour concerning the oilers
2. He used vague words. He didn't say 1st line center. And while joe Thornton would be great, I think we know that a guy like dubinsky or Vermette would be just as great for different reasons. Maybe better reasons in fact

Why don't the Oilers do what most teams do when players are so lost on the ice. They need to get some perspective from a different view. It takes time to work a major trade, games still have to be played. Surely & I mean surely, after the last 5 years of drafting, 1st over all 3 times in a row, 7th & then 3rd overall last year, Oilers must have some young players that are so hungry to make the NHL that they would skate through walls if given the chance. I mean, even your 2nd rounders are almost like 1st rounders. Call up 3 guys, sit Yakapov, sit Schultz, sit whoever the team feels is totally lost their way & let them see the game from the press box for a few games. Everyone thought the Flames had zero talent in the cupboards & we didn't have the luxury of the early 1st rounders the Oilers have had in the last 5 years, but it's amazing, every time we seem to bring up a young kid, they play hard, they play awesome. They may not have the experience or the same talent but I think fans would just appreciate the effort. Oiler Management are so convinced they have superstars in some of these under achieving kids that they are afraid to pull the trigger on one. It's not a total blow up again, but it's the wrong mix. Take 2 steps back in the rebuild & target a major piece going forward & go get it. Forget about opinion & optics, just go get a piece they need desperately. Perron isn't going to bring a return that will change the culture & direction, one of the alleged untouchables will. I am blown away we haven't seen young guys brought up & several players press boxing it.
