Bill Meltzer: Flyers Gameday: 11/29/14 @ NYR, Phantoms and Flyers Alumni Updates - bmeltzer
So rarely does a move out of desperation yields the desired results. That said, it's time. Either Berube is the fall guy or we have to move assets - good with bad. Or we just R admit we aren't good and tank. You known hat won't happen on an Ed Snider owned team. At this point I don't even know if G is untouchable. |

Seriously. Another regulation loss today and things are going to get all kinds of ugly. |

Nice blog. As far as the Rangers' projected lineup goes, Kreider is out today due to the death of his grandfather. JT Miller has been recalled and will play. Glass likely remains scratched in favor of Duclair. |

Bill,
Since west coast games are so past my bed time, I really know nothing about Perron. Who would you compare him to in former Flyer lore, stylistically speaking. |

big wins by carolina and buff yesterday. flyers still in 5th place points wise for draft seedings.
hextall has no balls to waive umberger. he cant play. send a message. how bad will it look when hartnell is traded with some good pieces come back the blue jackets way at the deadline. |

I had a slightest of hopes that the Flyers could win 2 or at least split these home and home games. They were only behind 3 points to the Rags heading into yesterday's game and I though a win on home ice would get things going.
Another ugly game and it looks like today won't be any different. At this point I just hope this team can score a goal let alone win a game.

First of all, G is far from being moved. His play has almost nothing to do with the failure of this team. We're losing games due to poor depth, asking too much of young players, and an overall tire fire of a 3rd line.
I'm not even sure Hexy makes a move to be honest. Even the best teams had to go through a terrible season at some point. |

The Phantoms had a chance to tie it in the 2nd last night, with Wedgewood on his back in the crease. One of the Phantoms was able to gather the puck close in on the right side, but Wedgewood made a great glove save.
Saw the Hextall post game Q&A this morning, and he mentioned that the Flyers were playing frustrated yesterday. That's for sure, and it was epitomized by Rinaldo. That late hit for one of his penalties was just horrible, and not something he's been doing this year. I hope they come out a bit more hungry this game and keep control of themselves. Yesterday's effort was horrific.

Then we just a close and bear it. I think we all knew the potential for this to happen this year with as poor as we are defensively. And then to lose Kimmo. I just didn't think we'd be so poor offensively. And the run earlier shows that this team can play with top teams. I'm discouraged by the lack of consistent jam. Oh... and who ever saw the Carter and Richie trades coming. G is syrup posed to be leading this team right now. There are no sacred cows. |

looking at the December schedule, it doesn't seem like there'll be many if any chances to regroup. This could get uuugly. |

I would have Luke Schenn in today and maybe even Coliaicovo
Let Ronald MacDonald sit after yesterday's performance. MDZ can take a seat too. He missed the net every shot he took.
Hey it can't be worse and it would give Schenn a chance to " look better" for when we trade him...maybe we can get a 4th instead of a 5th! |

I don't think you can afford to sit MDZ right now. There just isn't a viable option to replace him. |
