The bruins would have to be giving up Lucic for those two. Maybe a shake up In boston and some grit plus scoring for st. louis

Maybe Lucics time in Boston is nearing to an end. Seems like guy can't do anything anymore with out someone calling him out. I think he would be a good addition to the blues if there is any chance he is involved. Really wish the Devils could of landed steen but I understand why he wouldn't want to leave the blues for nj but he is the type of player we need to help balance the offense ( they are all almost 40 or the ones who aren't are under 25) no balance in our forward ranks it's either really old or really young not to many 28-31 year olds lol

Would that trade really help the Blues that much? They don't seem to have any obvious holes. The Blues might benefit from a Boston shakeup. Chiv might be sick of Lucic, and figure outside of dealing Chara, this would send the greatest message.

They seem to always fail in the playoffs despite lots of regular season success. Maybe they want to change up the core now just to have a slightly different core entering the playoffs.

Berglund needs to go. He did not pick up his man on the weak side on that goal

that wouldn't be that bad of a trade if blues got lucic for steen+cole, id do it, if there was a way for the leafs to get him that would be awesome but i highly doubt we trade with the bruins anymore and they are east rivals

I think he's exactly what they're missing to take them to the top and a drastic improvement to the team. Makes them tough to play against in every aspect.

I could see Lucic as the target as Hitch seems to want as many tough/nasty players as he can fit on a roster but this would make more sense if it was some kind of 3 way deal bringing a real scoring talent to St Louis.

I tend to disagree, bc Backes, Berglund, Ott, Steen, Stastny, and who ever I'm missing are solid defensively without even adding the Dmen.

Erikson and Marchand for Cole and Steen would make more sense. Erikson does not bring more offense than Steen.

If the trade happens it does confirm Armstrong does not think his current roster can get them to the WCF.

Steen had 33 goals last year. Maybe less this year but the offense they lose is about the same as what they gain. They also gain a player type they already have in Lucic.

It can happen. Hitch has probably already wet his Captain Kangaroo pajamas thinking about another fighter there. I'm just not seeing how it improves their offense in that combination. If it were Erikson and Lucic for Cole and Steen maybe a different story.
