Good write-up Carol, I too think it's best the team fly under the proverbial radar on a national level. Toronto and Winnipeg have been playing well as of late, Edmonton is always a polarizing subject, Calgary continues to be a feel good story, Ottawa just canned their coach and Montreal is Montreal.

You would have to think Benning is or will be looking to fill some holes at some point. Seems like trades are a rarity these days. |

It probably is nice to shed the reputation they had as Canada's most hated team AND continue to win. |

I admire your positivity and hope you are right.
Is there any truth to the non rumor we are trading Kassian and prospect for Yakupov? |

I was just kidding, but do hope you guys can be more competitive and show some better results.
Either way, I hope we see some better picks/prospects for both teams from this upcoming draft. |

Like I said before, he should have announced 5 New Hot Dogs, it's worked for the first 29 games for the Canucks. Go Hot Dogs!! |

To take the heat off the players. It's a Damned if you do , damned if you don't situation. If he didn't you would be asking where the GM is in all this? I was happy to hear he didn't through any of the players under the bus. |

Looks like EDM will pick up a good player. If VAN get's into the injury problems in the 2nd half of the season, which I think they will, they may be picking top 10.

So are they like Ball Park Dogs? I was thinking that I ever wanted to build a food truck I would try to emulate the top 10 MLB Parks Hot Dogs for my menu. Think that would fly? The Fenway Frank is delicious. |

Canucks defensemen and PP are the two major weak spots right now I don't like the "tired" excuse but they did look pretty gassed last game and late in MTL. A .500 roadtrip isn't the end of the world, but I was hoping for better after a strong start. They have to play better at home though if you're going to settle for .500 on the road you gotta be a strong home team. I do think the team misses the size of Kassian/Matthias in the bottom 6, especially against a team like the Habs who are quicker than us so we weren't gonna out-skate them.

Also if anyone in the hockey pool wants to make a minor deal, I'm looking to move a d-man like Martinez, Bogosian or Seidenberg. |

Wonder if the Canucks will be able to resign Matthias?

Not much. The Oilers are where they are for a number of reasons, none of which can be reversed.
1. Going into the rebuild (2008-2010), the Oilers failed to get anything of any long term significance for their veteran players. Smyth, Souray, Visnovsky went out, nothing at all came back.
2. The Oilers drafted or acquired too many Defense prospects that turned I to Busts. Teubert, Plante.
3. The Oilers had a young stud DMan the wanted to build around but he suffered a career ending injury.
4. Why in the world the Ol Tambo drafted small Winger Nail Yakupov when he already had hobbits Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle on the Roster is beyond me. Rumour has it Katz made the call.
5. Drafting outside the 1st round has been horrific between 2007 and at least 2012.
6. Tambo had no Interest in OKC. MacT has mandated to the coach that player development is a top priority.
Not sure what Nicholson can do about that.
Truth is, adding players like Fayne, Gordon, Hendricks, Ference and Nikitin were the type of moves that should have happened years ago.theyre the right kinds of moves IMO.
