Sens could in won that game - Hoffman easily our best player. Pageau also had a great game and always seemed to get the puck deep and make a play with it

Turris was brutal last night, the amount of blue line giveaway/turnovers he had last night was almost 100% - and he gets to play the entire game with EK on the ice. Just soft and a waste of !MacArthur, Stones talent.

Cowen cannot make a break out pass - he was also almost 100% glass and out last night. He has got to figure out a way to make a pass - he's like a rookie NFL QB who cannot read a defence and everything is to fast for him and he's throwing picks and intentionally throwing the ball out of bounds.

Biggest ottawa need - a decent LD puck mover with speed.

Lehner also looked small to me last night and didn't seem to have his confidence, the opening goal wasn't a fluke Lehner had one of his games were he plays deep and looks shaky. He's a battler but the consistency is not there yet.

hoffman played with intensity last night, i agree.
pageau is looking good--- can carry the puck and is hard to play against.
greening played like 5 minutes of ice time, was benched for poor play.
hoping cameron shows greening and cp4 (sorry, phillips) the pressbox on monday.
boro needs to sit and watch some tape as well-- he floats up during the penalty kill. last night wasnt the first time, but unfortunately it resulted in a goal. i'd bench either cp4 or boro if patty w is able to go.

edit: AND yes, desperately need a top defencemen to play with ek. but, not sure where we are gonna find one at this time.

Hoffman deserves the flak on the too many men on the ice. He was leaving the ice like the period was over. You have to show a bit more hustle than that. I'm not sure why there was a change when we were in the offensive zone with possession of the puck though.

Pretty disappointing effort overall. So far nothing seems to have improved since the coaching change. The inconsistent play sill exists and is still frustrating.

Karlsson needs to bring better efforts. I initially though he would become the scapegoat (undeservingly) purely because of his high risk plays, but now he is becoming a scapegoat (deservingly) due to just no playing the way we know he can. I am almost certain he will never be the same player we saw before his injury, but he is still capable of more than what we have been seeing. He deserves some time to grow into the captain role, but we should be improved play by now especially with a new coach at the helm.

what makes you think this?
i get that he's not at the top of his game right now, but i feel that might be bc he has no true partner to play with and is often overplayed as well.

I have never seen a player make as many moves in an NHL game as Hoffman did last night, the kid is dominant. He may be as good as Pat Kane with the puck on his stick, he was flat out from another league last night. So fun

Hoffman
EK
Pageau

Our 3 best players last night, Montreal didn't throw a hit all game so the small guys can play but good sign that we now have some speed in our game

It doesn't matter now anyway. We didn't win those next three games so the season is over right?

We haven't seen his game breaking speed since the injury. Biggest clue to me.

His speed allowed him to get back into plays and create plays prior to the injury. We haven't seen that a heck of a lot since. That has nothing to do with his partner. He has to adapt his game. He has even said it himself he doesn't feel the same and will have to adapt. This basically means his overall positioning and anticipation needs to be better.

I thought it was a great game. Had the Sens came back and won I would have thought it was a fabulous game.

Not expecting Sens to be anything other than a marginal playoff pretender. Expect they will play better in second half of season. I see a lot of really positive stuff. Next year is a fabulous draft. Looking forward to seeing Paul and Lazar skate for Team Canada.

A bunch of the young guys are demonstrating that they can play an NHL game. Zibanejad, Hoffman, Stone, Pageau, Lazar, Ceci, Cowen and Borowiecki will all get better with more experience. I really like the foundation that Murray has built.

Important to be patient and not do anything dumb.

Lehner needs to show a lot more if he wants to be a #1. Still makes a lot of errors. His athleticism makes up for some of the errors.

From the last blog: on Methot, Weircioch, 1st for Yandle
that's a terrible deal for arizona.....they already have too many d-men. they need forwards, and instead we're sending them a bottom pairing dman, a 2nd pairing dman (who you can't guarantee will re-sign, and in all likliehood tests free agency instead of extending in arizona....and who hasnt played this year) and a 1st that has a condition that makes it SIGNIFICANTLY less attractive as an asset........for a guy who's potentially one of the top 10-15 dmen in the league.

i would say that's like the leafs calling and offering franson, pollack, and a top ten protected 1st for bobby ryan

- sensarmy_11

Alright. If They need forwards than Ottawa has to trade either Stone, Hoffman, or Chiasson. Keep in mind, not everyone that has a good start in their career goes on to stay consistent. We have to many of the same type of forwards; good players that don't belong on the top line of any team. I'd say Greening, Stone, Prince, [methot/2nd] or 1st, how's that sound?

where is everyone??

I thought putting Mark Stone in a trade was going to get people talking. With Lazar and Paul playing now for Canada. Puempel and Prince still in Bingo and Hoffman and Stone playing well up front; team has excess, fix D up
