Why would anyone be upset? The majority of fans I know are cheering for losses because they know it's what is best for this team long term. What most fans I know are upset at, is that 10-3 run that we went on. Because of that, we could have played ourselves out of McEichel, and if that happens, this entire season will have been a waste. I personally don't want the Sabres to win one more game this entire season, and just wish Aidsmonton would pick up at least a few more. Cripes, the frustrating part is not how bad we are, but that we are this bad for a reason, and we aren't even in last place. Buffalo can't even lose right for pete's sake. |

Why be upset about it? They're barely ahead of Edmonton right now, and statistically, Edmonton is clearly the better team. Things will shake out the way they're supposed to when all is said and done. This is been a bad team all season. They got a bunch of lucky breaks during that 10-3 stretch. The actual stats of the game were still heavily in the oppositions favor. They ended up with 1 hot line and a hot goaltender. As soon as both of those cooled off, they returned to the cellar dwellers we all knew they were going to be. |

What many of us are upset about are the 5-1, 6-1, 7-0 losses, not losses as a whole, but the sheer lack of the team even looking like NHLers (and with Rochester being so bad this year, not even sure if this roster would compete in the AHL). |

It's like someone said in the last blog, I am constantly conflicted with rooting for the team to lose. Naturally I want the team to get a world class talent and all the benefits that come with it. But I also want to see the young players Grigensons, Ennis, Zadorov, Risto, Girgorenko, Foligno and Hodgson grow and succeed. They aren't. Most of them look flat out bad and that does not bode well for the future.
Its sort of like wanting a flood or fire at your house so you can have insurance cover it and you can get new stuff. This is the fire, but what if by some technicality the insurance company doesn't agree and you don't get new stuff?
In addition, as it stands right now we have a 13.5% chance at Mcdavid and a 33.5% at Eichel. All this for having to watch the worst team in the history of the game. And that as a reward for having to watch a team that made the playoffs 4 of the last 13 seasons in a league that allows over 50% of its teams in. |

Understandable in a sense. I am ok with it in that the end justifies the means. The fastest way to losses (besided lack of talent) is not trying. Hell, I'd be ok if they sent out 4 skaters. Nothing that happens this year is going to affect future years. |

This. When we blow a 2-1 lead in the third its like, aww shucks its got away. But Girgs had a great goal and Zadorov put guys on their ass and Enroth/Neuvrith looked solid. |

Problem is (like Jeremy white said in his rant) you can't have it both ways. You can't have a team that's competitive enough to consistently be in it every night against almost every team and still be a 30th place team.
Generally speaking if you're good enough to be within a goal on a regular basis you're probably winning more games than last place team would.

A little pain now should lead to years of joy . Don't understand why so many reject that concept.

Michael Pachla: Hang in there, Sabres fans. No one said it would be easy - Michael Pachla
I don't recall the two draft quote from Murray but that fits perfectly with what I can tolerate.
I can endure the rest of this season and hope for McDavid or Eichel, but next season there has to be improvement.
This season would also be much more tolerable if the Blues or Islanders would suddenly go on a 10 game losing streak. I so wanted a second lottery pick, even if it was #14. |

It will get worse before it gets better. The one game I watched this year was live vs the Canadiens at home when Molson had that OT goal with the assist from the board. Going to keep that happy memory and ride it out until the trades/draft starts |

I think that is what TM and Pegula expected as well.
I think the lack of passion being displayed in this last losing streak will ultimately be Nolan's undoing.
If the team played a hard, and somewhat nasty, game but still lost then Nolan may have survived another season to see what he could do with talent (I was going to write more talent, but that didn't seem right). |

Ha ha but you're wrong. Every person who thinks this is right inclulding Jeremy White is dead wrong.
The Sabres have missed the playoffs 8 times in 12 seasons. The Bruins missed the playoffs 8 times since 1964. After the lockout when the Bruins didn't look so good they traded their star player Joe Thornton to San Jose. They went on to finish 26th in 05-06 and 23rd in 06-07. Then 07-08 2nd overall. 1 spot from a presidents trophy. 10-11 Stanley cup win. 12-13 Stanley cup appearance. |

Even just busting the shutout yesterday would have entertained. i kinda hear what jeremy white is saying, but his rant was kinda "meh" if he doesnt care that i'd like to see a goal or two, i don't care that he's a season ticket holder with disposable income that can afford to give his tickets away. |

I can stand the losing and I absolutely want more of it.
What I cant stand is all of the people who turn down free tickets wont come to games cause they suck and when they do become a good team will automatically become die hard fans who loved them all along. For me the 2 people who dropped out of splitting season guess what in two years and you want back in hit the bricks |
