Tarasenko can't buy a goal lately. Hopefully when it picks up, they come in heaps.

Another great recap Randal. Holy schmokes two really good write ups in a row! I like it. Your voice sounds confident and you seem to be noticing some things.

I disagree about Lappy being a detriment to the fourth line. It is not like this is an aberrant year Lappy had. You look at his advance stats and they have been some of the worst in the league for a while now. He has been good in the dot but not much else. Seeing the fourth line now it is night and day in a difference. They are not getting hemmed in their own zone for long stretches and they are cycling the puck longer and getting more scoring chances. That is a huge difference and even though it is two games I bet the advance stats tell a whole different story.

Goc has become a fourth liner but he has not always been a fourth liner. The guy only had issues scoring consistently. He reminds me a lot of Sobotka only Sobie had a tad more iq in the offensive zone but also had the issue of scoring consistently.

Goc also does not get knocked off the puck or turn it over as easily as Lappy did. Them are the facts as they say.

The reason the Blues slowed down a bit was because they were basically running three lines and leaning heavy on the top two. They barely played the Lindstrom line. You could see this by the super quick shifts in the third, the coasting from center ice to the bench by Steen and them huffing it in the over time. I have no idea why the NHL needs a week long break for the all star game but it seems like a number of teams are playing three games in four nights because of it. Makes little sense. Better to put one of those games in October.

Right now the Canes are far better than their record.

Allen looked good as neither goal would have been anything less than a phenominal save. The weird post bounce will be cleaned up now.

Maybe Hitch was right about Reaves. Although saying that besides a handful of skaters I would not consider Carolina one of the faster teams, which means Reaves will not look as slow as he has. If he looks like this against say Dallas as he did fairy well against Colorado then he either healed or got his stride right. Last season he started off looking the fastest he had and then was injured and looked slow again going into the season until about three weeks ago.

Got to love seeing the Blues scrape up points and looking fairly dominant.

Puck luck will go the other way eventually. The man has had about three golden chances a game and nothing much to show for it lately.

Allen said he had no idea where the puck was, that he lost it when it was flipped up. (Said that happened several times last night)

Something about the dark seats there and it being hard to track the puck when it got up high.

You guys need to watch this video of the Dad's trip. I have to say, when the Neil Young came in it brought a tear to my eye.

Went down weird while checking someone.

Ovechkin also left his feet to hit Petro in the head, but looks like Petro is ok. No penalty, of course, because of who did it.

A game like today's is exactly why the Blues have Ott. Yeah, he is probably overpaid slightly. But pretty much all UFA are.
