Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Too Little Too Late Against Streaking Wild The first career goal for Latvian rookie Ronalds Kenins wasn't enough. The Vancouver Canucks fell 4-2 to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at Rogers Arena.

Canucks are old ,slow , and predictable . That is not taking into account soft.

Until they change all of those components, what you see is what you get.

The big star of the game was Gary Valk for calling the Canucks out in between both periods about their toughness and their predictable slow PP and the people they have on it.

I have always liked Gary's commentary. He calls it right most of the time. Players need more accountability. Change the room up a bit more Benny.

Valk hit the nail on the head regarding Dorsett having the fend for himself. Canucks needed to show they have his back, whether its being physical or worst case a conversation

34 games remaining in 68 days, this team needs to build some momentum, there are no more big breaks between games, schedule basically works out to a game every second day, a couple of back to backs and a few 2 day breaks.

Someone posted the upcoming schedule, I don't see this team faring well in this upcoming 2-3 week stretch, which could be a blessing in disguise. Kills any chance of Benning thinking this team could actually be competitive in the playoffs(if they even make it).

Best thing that could happen. Higher pick and the team shows JB it is not as good as he says it is

No worries. According to EK, Santorelli and Franson are coming to rescue.

Funny thing is most of JBs moves have been solid, but he is still stuck in a mess of poop from the Gillis era

Any idea of which players/prospects with a Clendening-ish situation Benning would likely be targeting?

Santorelli aint gonna help us...soft. Franson?? Not likely...

Wouldn't it make more sense for JB to try to pry Winnik out of TO? Reunite him with Bonino...they were exceptional last year in ANA...

It's actually embarrassing. This has pissed me off for years now and speaks directly about the team being soft. I miss the days of bench clearing brawls.

It is embarrassing. Gone are the days of Lapierre/Torres running around like apes destroying all out there...

I wouldn't mind seeing a trade in the likes of Jagr for a 3rd(2nd if we make 2nd round of playoffs). He still has speed and skill at his age, seems to make his other line mates better when they play with him and could replace Daniel on 1st pp to help spark it. I know JB doesn't really want to get rid of picks but Jagr wouldn't be a bad idea for a late one.

Just looked at guys that are coming out of their entry level contract that will be in Clendening's situation would be:

N. Beaulieu
Grigorenko
D. Shore
Tinordi
Howden
Namestinikov
Pulkkinen

I think all those guys would require passing through waivers in order to be sent down even if they sign two-way deals next year.

N. Beauleiu, Tinordi, Pulkkien would be great trade targets. I think Buffalo makes room for Grigorenko next year

Not sure if I can agree with most of his moves being solid.

He might of had his hands tied on the Kesler trade but I don't think the return can been seen as solid at this point. Bonino needs to be a bigger contributor for this deal to be seen as a success.

Dorsett deal was solid, a 3rd round pick is good value for what he brings.

The Vey deal might be okay but at this point he hasn't been able to contribute enough either. Garrison while disappointing last year still led this team from scoring on the back end 33 points isn't amazing but it looks like Edler ( our best offensive dman) won't crack 30.

I like the Pedan deal, that was really good asset mgmt, in moving a useless guy in Mallet, but he still moved a 3rd for a questionable prospect.

Clendening for Forsling could be good but Clendening needs to have an impact this season for it to be considered a solid move. If Clendening doesn't stick or doesn't produce, Benning has thrown away another prospect for a gamble.
