But let's just take a step back for a minute.

This is real life. It's not rocket science. It's percentage. To say that fewer or more shots affect a goaltender's SV% is, well I have no words for it. SV% is the percent of shots faced and saves made.

I'm not sure why journalists or hockey people have been trying to change the laws or maths/physics with regards to SV% and Luck%. Scholars have given their whole lives to figuring this out. And now we have journalists saying luck is actually worked out this way.

It works both ways. If a goalie faced 2 shots and saved 2. He would have 100% SV%. If a team gave up 46 shots in a game, said goalie would have to save 46 shots to get 100% SV%.
Conversely, goalie A saves 1 of those 2 he has 50% SV%. Goalie B only have to save 23 to reach that number.

Having people say more of less shots faced is the only reason SV% are so high is absolutely inconsequential.
