Rinne was the ONLY reason Preds won last night. In terms of advanced stats, Jets were seen to out possess and won the Corsi battle. Lucky you guys have Pekka.

Cmon dude... he wasn't the "ONLY" reason the preds won... they still managed to score 3 goals.. lol if it was a 1-0 shootout win for Nashville, then I'd say Rinne was the "ONLY" reason they won.

Yea, the Preds going 2 for 5 on the Powerplay didn't help at all.

The Preds won 3-1. You can't say Rinne was the only reason they won.

That's almost as clueless as the guy over on the Jets' comment thread that said now with Myers, they may have the best Defensive Corps in the West. Hahaha. Pekka was a big reason the Preds won. But also, when the Preds Captain was in the box, a kid who is on the 3rd D pair helped shut down 90 seconds of 5-on-3 play, stuffing multiple opportunities. And don't forget Shea Weber unleashing multiple bombs that did damage in various ways.

Sure, the Preds didn't have their best possession game last night. But they still found a way to beat the Jets.

Rinne and Weber won that game.

Damn I hope we don't have the preds in the first round of the playoffs, Rinne is the Jet's kryptonite.

Also, the pp goal that was scored on the delay of game penalty should have never been, that puck went out off the shaft of a stick and was missed by the refs. If that never happened, could have been a different game.

Great game though, love watching these central division matchups! The rest of the NHL should be jealous at the caliber of hockey we get to see so often.

Anyone who thinks that Nashville was the better team is delusional. Jets had zone possession for stretches that lasted minutes, with key chances at several points throughout the night. Nashville is a good team with a world beater of a goaltender. Without Rinne, that game is over in the second period, if you think differently, you either didn't watch the game or had the blue and yellow sunglasses on.

I'm okay with Rinne for Hart and Vezina, but the Norris will be going to number 58 from Pittsburgh, all day.

4-2-2 when Rinne was hurt.

List of opponents
Washington
Detroit
Montreal
Colorado (2)
St Louis
Pittsburgh
Toronto

One terrible team on that list. Rinne is good, no doubt. Arguably the best in the league. But the rest of the Preds aren't too shabby either.

Pekka played outstanding last night. Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades....

Zone possession is great, if you can bury the puck during that time. And Letang is good and Weber most likely won't win the Norris (not because he doesn't deserve it) but Weber was as much as a reason the Jets lost last night as Rinne was.

Forsberg is a lock for the Calder for sure (assuming no major injury that causes him to miss games)

Rinne deserves the Vezina, but Carey Price does too. Weber has been due to win a Norris for years now and is deserving this year for sure.

Rinne and Weber will most likely get snubbed due to playing in Nashville. I think they have both come to terms with that. It's sad but it's how it goes.

The Jets created multiple problems in the 3rd. The 5 on 3 Pekka and Seth show was a 2 man show after all.

Our possession numbers have taken a serious hit since both Ellis and Elkholm have gone down. We are missing our #3 and 4 defensemen. Both were rounding into excellent positional d-men and puck-moving players...and Elkholm scored a 98 on his "Weber bombs from the point to score crazy many goals" midterm exam. How many teams can say that (missing the middle of their defense core, not the midterm thing) and still post the record we have? And be without #1 goalie for a chunk of that....

But Pekka was the #1 star last night for a reason....so maybe we are both mostly right....

Ekblad could easily win the Calder.

He could. I don't think easily. He would have to seriously outperform Forsberg for the rest of the season. I don't think it is as close as you think. No disrespect to Ekblad. He is an 18 year old playing the (arguably) hardest position in hockey and doing it like a Seasoned Vet. But Forsberg numbers are too pretty for the voters to ignore.

A lock for sure? Hmmm.

Klingberg and Ekblad say hi.

I am sorry but Klingberg has no shot. Ekblad does but unfortunately for him he plays in a market (like Nashville) that no one cares about. And if you read/listen to hockey writers that are voting, they are all saying Forsberg. Again, I am not saying Ekblad doesn't deserve it. I am saying he won't get it.

If all three maintain their current pace, Forsberg should win, but anything can happen over the next 20+ games.

Klingberg has no shot? If he keeps up his current pace he has a better shot than Ekblad. Even Hutchinson has a chance too (although he has been trending down). But for you to say Forsberg is a lock for sure is more than a little premature. I'd agree that it is currently Forsberg's to lose. But you take an anecdotal consensus amongst hockey writers and suddenly turn that into a lock for sure? If that's how you derive factual information then I've heard enough.

Good use of emojis. I could see how the consensus that Forsberg is a lock among the people who actually decide the outcome of the award would be irrelevant information on the topic

Sensationalize some more information while you're at it. Nobody said it was "irrelevant" information. And I seriously doubt the people who actually vote for the award already made a consensus decision that Forsberg was a lock. That would be more than a little unprofessional. Kinda like how you like to misrepresent information to support your point.
