If he likes it here and he is promised a starting job then I don't see why he wouldn't come back after helping the organization get a few more pieces for the rebuild.

IMO there would be mutiny in Buffalo if Big Z is traded.
I like the way the Sabres, Nolan is keeping him on a short leash as he develops.
The leaders in the locker room need to get a hold of him...someone take him under their wing.

As for ROR, I'd love to have him, but don't want to overpay for him either. It might be better to just wait until he is a FA and see if the fit/desire is still there. I don't want to see our D corps depleted any further, else we are in the same boat searching for competency.

agreed, imtg...also agree that neuvirth should be re-signed...am approaching everything with mceichel glasses, though...with that in mind, despite his upside, neuvirth will probably be traded

I want to see Neuvirth re-signed as well, but I don't think there should be a panic that no talks are going on for an extension. He's not going to be incredibly highly sought after.

Or its because they lost their best player due to injury.

If he posts a save percentage of more than .950 then he is hurting the bigger goal. Get him out of here with the understanding he will get a phone call in the summer. It is time for the Lindback era to begin.
