Everyone in Buffalo would scream conspiracy to get the USA vs Canada (Buffalo/Eichel vs Toronto/McDavid) thing going for years to come. Though given the state of the franchises/prospects, Toronto would be taking quite a beating for awhile.

Everyone knows that Edmonton is almost guaranteed the first pick through the lottery; give them the first over-all yet again. McDavid will get drafted first and having to struggle through Edmonton's "system" will fail to live up to expectations. Eichel will be drafted by Buffalo and probably terrorize the East for the foreseeable future.

Dude, if they get Subban, the Sabres will be coolest team in the league.

Subban, McEichs, Rinehart, Kane - Foligno - Bogo - kooky Zadorov - kooky Grigs - (if they aren't traded for ROR).

Being a sports fan from Buffalo....i just know it's a foregone conclusion that we'll finish dead last by a mile and NOT get the #1 pick!

Completely agree, but I'd be THRILLED with either. Just a couple weeks ago when the Sabres were 8 points from 29th everything looked good... now I've genuinely nervous. Arizona and Edmonton could easily pass us if we keep finding ways to get points while being out shot 3 to 1.

Thankfully, they got the memo to Ennis between periods and told him to go on vacation for a week and Girgensons, unfortunately, appears out for the year... so tack on some deadline deals and losing our 2 best (most consistent) forwards in the process. They're good to go now.

would love McDavid, but I think our consolation prize is Strome. I won't be too disappointed with that
