I meant a Pronger-style retirement. Great for the Leafs if that happens. |

this really is bad. time for a meeting outside of nationwide arena somebody smoking some good poop inside. just embarrassing |

I agree with Todd in that Clarkson will probably be better in Columbus than he was in Toronto, but I'm still shocked by this move, and unless Clarkson magically regains his 25g + scoring touch that he had in NJ, this is easily going to go down as the worst move of the year for Columbus. Leafs fans will be dancing in the streets. |

Ohhh gotcha. I don't know the guy so I have no idea if he has any intention on playing again but it sure sounds like it's real doubtful. |

Ownership probably wanted a player that they would actually pay to play. I wonder how many teams knew about this because if I'm the Jackets I would ratter trade him to a rich team that would do it if the Jackets threw in a 2nd rounder or prospect.
And plus your GM has a hard-on for power forwards. |

And if he gets worse, he kills your bottom 6, while also killing you cap payroll. |

Why would Horton even consider that? His life is practically ruined... he's not going to forego the only thing that might make it a little bit better. |

Can he really get worse? |

My biggest issue with the deal is that I just don't like Clarkson. Of all the RW's you could make a move for, he's one of the most overrated I can think of. I really, really can't think of a worse piece to add |

Yup, I just heard Horton's contract was not insured so Columbus was on the hook for paying him while he was injured. Leafs in a much better position to do that. |

From the Columbus perspective, even an underperforming Clarkson brings more to the table than an injured Horton. His contract wasn't insured, so they're paying him to undergo treatment. At least they're paying Clarkson to play hockey. |
