I wouldn't expect one iota of value for Conacher. I generally hate when teams trade guys and the fans go around bashing that player all the sudden, but he really just isn't cut out to do anything in the NHL. I feel for the guy, but he's hopeless. He certainly works his ass off though. He was gifted a spot on the top line with Tavares to start the season and managed to produce 1 goal and 3pts.

Yeah, Benning kind of implied that was a career AHL player.
I thought it was a 2017 2nd for Sven? - noisewater
2015... depends on where you look though. Calgary traded LW Sven Baertschi to Vancouver for Vancouver's 2nd-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Benning said specifically that it was a 2015 2nd. Hopefully we can recoup some of those picks before the draft.
"We brought Derek Dorsett in to change the culture in the locker room." - Marwood
I'm not sure if it was in the same interview but I did hear Benning yesterday say (paraphrase) that he noticed Dorsett and Kassian are spending a lot of time together outside of the rink. He goes on to say that he didn't ask them to spend time together but that Dorsett is an intense guy and so is Kassian and credits Dorsett for being a good example of how to channel that intensity.

It's 2015, both teams official press release said so and Benning said in the interview above that they thought Sven was better than any prospect they'd likely land in the mid-2nd this year.
Do you guys have any? I thought I heard you didn't... mind you it was a Toronto feed and they don't believe hockey exists past Yonge and Dundas... - geta02it

I heard that bit, too.
You got to think Dorsett has helped Horvat adjust, as well.
Love to see him as captain! I'm starting the campaign today!!!

We traded our 3rd this year for Pedan and 2nd in this deal. So after the first there's no picks until the 4th. With the logjam of forwards up front I'd imagine the plan is to move a veteran at the draft for a 2nd or 3rd.

I hope they re-sign Dorsett, he's an idea 4th liner to have. Good in the locker room, stands up for teammates, , always crashing the net, can PK, skates well and chips in offensively every now ad then.
I just hope he doesn't have his mind set on going back home to Columbus.
