Not sure it was the greatest move in Bills history but it sure makes things interesting.
I don't hate the trade I just hate the contract. - leonwaldo420
yeah, it's a big one, but numbers are something that can be juggled...McCoy's talent is upper-echelon |

what you said - Michael Pachla
As you said, it is nice having GMs that are willing to go all in.
We are not all going to agree with the moves either of them are making, but at least they are making them.
They each have their blue print as to what the team should be and it seems like they are going to execute that plan no matter what it takes.

Heres the thing about McCoy and him being unhappy (allegedly)
One its a shock to get traded when you aren't expecting it.
Two its even more of a shock when it happens in the NFL.
Three its not about him being paid, its about his 2016 year where he doesn't have any guaranteed money.
Four they will restructure his contract where it wont be a massive cap hit my guess is around $8-9 million with more guaranteed money in 2016 and 2017. It happens in the NFL all the time. He is also the BEST RB in the game.
Five Kiko has torn ACLs in both knees. He didn't play last year the D was still top 5.
Six NFL teams know how to restructure contracts to fit all of their top players under the cap. It's something the Saints did to sign Byrd and Graham. The old Buffalo Bills (Ralph) was against paying his best players the money they wanted and I HIGHLY doubt Uncle Terry is playing it the same way.
Seven Hughes was gone regardless my guess with the restructuring of McCoy's contract there will be about $19 million left (after cuts and what not) to sign free agents and draft picks which should be plenty the Bills aren't going to be sinking $10 million per on one player.
Eight I would expect that the Bills work on Mario's contract and get him to restructure and extended so there will be plenty of money to resign Dareus as well.
Nine Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer say hey look at my Super Bowl rings...

A source informed ESPN's Josina Anderson that LeSean McCoy is "frustrated" over being traded to the Bills and is "not going to make it easy, that's for sure."
"Of course he's not happy," added the source. "It'll be interesting to see how this process plays itself out because he's an interesting individual. ... He was like 'why me?'" Some are leaving the door open to McCoy possibly refusing to go to Buffalo, leading to the Bills possibly pulling out of the trade prior to it officially going through when the new league year opens March 10. But in all likelihood, the Bills will hand McCoy a new contract with more guaranteed money through 2015 and 2016 and let coach Rex Ryan work his magic as a coach with the ability to convince his players to "buy in." Ryan's the ultimate players coach.
He has a contract, why do we need to " bend over " for this guy ? I'm starting not to like this. We have to give him more money just to come to Buffalo ? screw him. |

This has been rumor bullpoop for the past 12 hours. When you're the face of the franchise and you get blindsided with a trade and you're happy where you are, no poop you're displeased. He hasn't actually said a word yet but I'm betting he gets his contract reworked to lower his cap number and give him more guaranteed money. It's just a bunch of bullpoop. He could have been traded anywhere and whatever bullpoop source could have said oh well (frank) he's upset about getting traded to x

Just revisited the Bennett trade and forgot how huge it was. Imagine that today. Trade say Fred Jackson, two 1sts and a 2nd for the rights to a player. That would be crazy.
The Rams by the way, ended up with 3 1sts in '88 and 2 in '89, 2 2nds in '88 and 3 in '89. How did they screw that up so badly? |

I guess so, like I said I don't mind the move as long as it doesn't mean we can't sign some of the other guys we need.
Sounds like McCoy will be disgruntled as well so that is never a good thing.
Bottom line is that without an above average QB they will still be on the outside looking in when the playoffs come around.

Michael - if you start writing about the Bills that site will quickly become my one-stop spot for all Buffalo articles.
Completely and utter disgusted with this trade. We traded Kiko for a $10 million dollar version of Spiller. It doesn't matter how good this defense was last year, there's always room for improvement, and you can never have enough depth at the linebacker position. RB is the easiest position to fill in the league and the draft coming up is incredibly deep in that same position. This was a fantasy football move. Awful. |

I seriously hope the Sabres have more success with their stock pile of draft picks than the Rams did. |

Can we stop with this already, Johnson was actually a good QB (he caught a TD pass from himself for crying out loud) and Dilfer had arguably the best Defense in the history of the NFL.
