OMG Garth both Zadorov and Grigorenko included in a trade for ROR? You must be freaking out of your mind? Zadorov alone should net us more then ROR who is your every day average 2nd line centers. I'm not giving up two of the biggest blue chip prospects in the league in a trade for someone we can just sign next summer. Seriously man think before you write this jibberish.
Grigorenko, Weber, STL/NYI's first and Baptiste for ROR. If not then move on. |

In Garth's defence he said, "included in a package," which would mean there's more to the package than just Grigorenko and Zadorov. |

Not even willing to give up Baptiste for him. This kid will be playing on our top 6 before you know it. It would be a shame if we traded away so many of our prospects before they've even had a chance to play their first NHL game. And, that last 1st round pick we have, for all we know that could turn out to be the next Corry Perry with this deep draft. I don't know why so many people are willing to give up possibly great assets to bring in a guy like ROR who seems to be more trouble than he's worth. |

I've seen him in person a few times this season. He looks very good. |

How long before Nolans fired? Buffalo needs a coach that can develop the kids, not bury them. Same issues he had with the Isles when we started the rebuild, he had no patience with rookies.
Buffalo is going to have a whole lot of kids coming into the lineup over the next couple years, Ted Nolan is one of the last guys I'd want as a head coach for that. |

I was excited when Nolan came back - now I understand why he left in the first place. He has done a horrible job with his young players. Your a 30th place team - play the kids and let them work through these things. You think Matt Ellis deserves to be here - Flynn was a turnover machine. If we are pointing fingers - 41 and 51 shouldn't see the light of the rink.
Do we want to bring up our so-called Capitan or prized free agent in Moulson? Both have been brutal and should be help accountable for this terrible season. 82? 19?
Nolan wants to pick on the future - because - he will not be in the future come May. Dead Man Walking in my mind.
No system - old school attitude and ZERO results. |

Garth,
Make up your mind. Either he's great or he's not. Stop flip flopping, it is getting annoying. And either fly out to Colorado and smoke a doobie while you are marrying ROR or stop. Just please for the love of ungrateful god stop!!!! |

If you believe the rumours, end of this year.
Doesn't really get along with Murray from what's been said, probably just kept him around for the tank portion for the rebuild. |

He did the same thing with the Isles, ripped on the kids and overplayed the vets. I get that he wants to win but he's gotta go so you can get your kids more playing time. I'd be curious to see the Sabres with a better coach who would let the kids play and learn rather than punish them for mistakes. Rookies make mistakes, gotta let them play through it. |

too soon to say that for a young guy playing under Nolan. A new coach could give him more ice time which would probably help him. Burying him on the fourth line is pretty harsh when you're the 30th team and need kids to develop.

But should a kid earn time? Or get awarded time for acting lazy and not buying in?
Seems to me some kids on BUF bought into the state and are doing quite well |

Can't wait for Nolan to be gone. He had a minute of ice time when he shifted him to the 4th line. Saw all you needed in 1 shift huh? Ok. Get out. |

Seems to me some kids on BUF bought into the state and are doing quite well - MrBeanTown Nolan, to me, seems to take any excuse to limit the ice time of a rookie. He plays favorites with vets and because of that I wanted him gone when he was coaching the isles. What do the Sabres have to play for? They should give their kids every opportunity right now to get them ready for a better year next year, not destroy any confidence by demoting them to the fourth line early in a game. |

Guys, Grigerenko came from a poor family(didn't even have running water), he was saying how he wanted to earn money for them playing in NHL etc...so why not work hard for them? I am an Amerks season ticket holder and have seen all the prospects for the last 25 years, Grigerenko is a bust, the guy acts like he deserves to be playing top line minutes and the first year he was here the team hated his guts, they couldn't stand him. His skating is very poor, when he plays he never goes near the net or works hard to get the puck in the offensive zone, he thinks it's like Junior hockey where everything moves slow and comes to him.
If you came from a super poor family and you wanted to earn money for them why not work hard? He's not going to earn much money in the ECHL. The excuse of how Darcy had him play too early is nonsense, the guy just doesn't have it!Brad May said it best when he stated that Grigs had NO zip to his game...My nickname for him is NoZip.
1. terrible skating and quickness
2. lazy lack of effort
3. poor attitude
4. not a high end talent |

Opinions like this is why kids struggle to live up to expectations. The kid is 20 years old, everyone trashes him because hes not ready for the NHL yet. He plays good this year in rochester and I hear people say "only because of Armia". How about Armia, hes drafted a year before grigoernko and he looked lost in the NHL, is he a bust? No one seems to say that about him. Of the 30 players selected in the first round in grigoernko's draft, only 13/30 are full time NHLers, 3 top 10 picks from that draft arent even in the NHL yet. To quote Aaron Rodgers, R-E-L-A-X. |

I agree, why give up a top pairing dman for a second liner. Kane-McEichel-Girgensons/Ennis is a very good top line. I wouldn't give up more then something like grigorenko+Ruhwedel+2 second rounders. That most likely isn't enough to get him, but the price hes gonna cost for his roll on our team just isnt worth it for us, especially when hes a year away from being a UFA. Hes got 10+25 in 61 games, thats nowhere near enough to give up a blue chip prospect like Zadorov |

The thing is Grigorenko doesnt have a heck of a lot of value right now. A late first and Weber wont do it for ROR. Youre over valuing your prospects. Zadarov alone is NOT netting you more than ROR. I like zadarov in fact i wanted us to draft him but thats not even close hes no sure thing. |

I disagree with that. I think Zadorov is more valuable then ROR, especailly to a team like colorado. I do agree that they'll look for a package instead. |

Like i said I like Zadarov and his potential but I'm not sure how much more valuable he is than ROR at this point? I tend to think Colorado would agree. With only a year left on his contract it will diminish his value but not sure how much more valuable Zadarov is. Like you said it'd depend on teams needs but I still believe maybe a straight up trade or they'd want more IMO. As far as having Grigerenko as the main piece of a trade for him that's laughable(that was the post I was originally replying too). |
