love stamkos....
although i'd probably never trade the first overall pick this year...if I had to, stamkos would be the one i'd trade it for - Michael Pachla
yeah that was a conversation in the last hour, hence the new location |

dropped in on the last blog real fast...noticed it...loved it...
Edit: now I get it...the hockey news on the pens trading Crosby for the first overall...like another team would do that |

Very Solid, Pach. The consistent numbers while playing on crappy to horrible teams, under three different coaching staffs, two owners, two GMs, show one thing: Enzo is a good, consistent player who can create even with little accompanying talent around him. If he wants to be here for the climb, he has deserved it as much as anyone. For those who say his numbers will decline playing less minutes on a better team, I say poppycock and balderdash. Put him on McEichel or a matured Rienharts wing and 30 goals and 60 points are possible |

I'd like to see the Sabres ship their late 1st rd pick (via NYI) to Carolina, for Jeff Skinner.
Wanna talk about speeding up this rebuild? Skinner is an electafying young goal scorer who would replicate what Max Domi was for Reinhart in World Jr's.
Moulson/McEichel/Kane
Ennis/Ryan O'Riley/Skinner
Girgensons/Reinhart/Gionta |

Well, other than score a few goals, he also snapped his leg over the net. (A source says it was because they asked him to backcheck) |

You would have already used the late first in a ROR package. Can't trade it twice |

what exactly are you giving up for ROR? Bc it would take a boat load in order to do so, probably more that you guys are willing to give up |

That is probably the right amount of pieces in some combination, since I put his trade value in the Kesler realm (29yr 2 way C with one year left on contract) for Nick Bonino, Luca Sbisa, a first and third round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. I think that trade sets the value |

Isn't Skinner the current league leader in concussions? |

Agreed. If TM wants him badly as rumored, I see a draft day deal happening. We still have lots of picks and prospects and we can afford a ROR size cap number. Colorado will need to pay MacK soon right? |

MacK, Barrie, Johnson, and ROR all would need new contracts after the 2015-16 Season. Johnson probably will get an extension this summer, and Barrie Mack are both RFAs, probably not a major concern right now so mack could do a bridge deal. Avs have done that with Varly, Barrie, Dutch, and tried to do that with ROR, so I won't be shocked with a MacK Bridge. Barrie is going to get paid though. |

Instead of ROR I would look to trade zadorov and Gringo to Edmonton if they end up with the 4th pick. Sure strome or marner wouldn't be bad on their roster but they are looking for players NOW not guys ready in a couple years. Zadorov gives them a young NHL ready defenseman which they want and gringo gives them a forward from the loss they get from not drafting #4. We get a young high upside prospect to play with Reinhart or mcheichel. We use our 2nd first rd pick to draft a defenseman for the loss of zadorov. No worries on RORs huge contract then |
