GARTH'S CORNER: Strome Jumps Over Eichel In HIS April Rankings

This is like when people started ranking Tavares 3rd in 2009. Sometimes, people just watch so much of a player that they start to nitpick and get cute. McDavid and Eichel are clearly the top two players in this draft; I don't think any teams are stupid enough to pick Strome 2nd over Eichel.

That's not to say Strome is bad; he's obviously not. I think he could (should?) go third overall. But McDavid-Eichel are still as "generational" as they've been for years.

Strome is a gret player and there is a reason that he won the scoring title but there is also a reason the Eichel has been the #2 all year. The kid is sick he has the skills the verry few posess and he would be the clear number 1 in almost any other draft. The only reason that he isn't is McDavid. Both players are generational talents that you build your team around. Strome is going to be a really good player but he's not going to be a McDavid or Eichel talent. In another draft maybe he goes top 2 but any team that passes on Eichel is just plain stupid

100% agree. Ppl who think Eichel is overrated haven't seen the kid play. I am a big strome fan and will be ecstatic if the buds pick him but Eichel is by far the better prospect

Anyone sane person that watches both guys know Eichel is a much better prospect. I like strome if we somehow end up picking 3rd, but Eichel is on a different level.
