And Zubs is still playing with Elias.... And Henrique now too god damn why do they (frank)ing do this. Can't they see Zubs is incapable of accepting/making a pass!? |

Gomez and Bernier as linemates? Color me not shocked at all if Boucher slowly takes the Josefson route to the NHL. |

Was reading previous forum, and apparently some people are thinking Carolina drafts D at 5th, should they end up there.
Doubt it. When you're drafting top 5, you draft best player available. Around 6th pick, teams start to draft players that take people off guard with their picks. I really don't think Carolina drafts D while someone like Strome or Marner is available... the way they're playing, they'd probably go top three any other year.
As for tonight... ah who cares? The game doesn't matter I don't think three games matter too much in terms of player development. |

Glad to see both boucher and matteau are playing at the same time, was starting to get the micheal/lotoya jackson thing for us old folks? With the draft i'm starting to feel like charlie brown and the football with Lou's picks. Everything in the world says he has to pick a scoring forward with the 6th pick, but would anybody be surprised if he didn't grab one of the top rated defenseman? |

Boucher is a sniper. Gomez is our best playmaker. Bernier is probably our best guy offensively at doing the dirty work and going to the front of the net.
Who else would you want Boucher to be with? |

Yeah but Provorov and Werenski really aren't reaches at 5. There are scouts that feel Werenski is as good or better than hanafin, so I could definitely see Carolina taking. |

Stuck with 3rd/4th liners
Gomez is our best playmaker?
I would've said Elias, but yeah he's having a horrible year. Also, that's not a good thing if you consider Gomez our best playmaker and Bernier our best checking FW.
Are you forgetting the almighty Zubrus?

Larsson is one point short of becoming the youngest Devils defenseman to score 25 points in a season since Scott Niedermayer in 1993-94. #bust |

If Strome and Marner are gone by 6 (likely), I wouldn't have a problem taking Provorov. |

Wonder what he'll be scoring next year if they groom him for the power play. |

I'm against trading our pick but I'd honestly move it for Ehlers. Doubt the Jets would do it unless they love someone highly ranked. He's always been a stud but I'm sitting here watching him and don't think I'd take anyone from last year above him now. |

I've seen it happen before, so maybe... it absolutely shocked me that Jones didn't go 2nd overall to the Panthers... ya never know. I still doubt it, though. If we got one of Strome or Marner at 6, it would be be a steal. I'd say they're equivalent to your average 2nd overall picks in most other given years.
To put it into perspective, one can check the regular season stats of Ryan Nugent Hopkins, Nate MacKinnon, Max Reinhart and other top 3 draft picks during their draft years. |

I don't think the Jets would go for that for a guy who'll end up being pretty much just as good, statistically (unless Marner or Strome drop that far). Ehlers is probably going to be a really good player and he's already a year into his development, so I don't see why they would. |

Hind sight, The panthers got a better player in Ekblad. Joens is still a good player. But Ekblad is doing things that rookie D-man don't normally do. |

No way the get's take a D-man. That's not a knock against you. I just feel like they won't. Not with Myers, Buff, Enstrom, Trouba, Stuart, Clitsome and Chiarot on the current roster. They also have Morrissey waiting in the wings. It'd be like you guys taking another d-man. Wouldn't be a bad pick. But you guys already have 4 good ones, with a 5th waiting in the wings. |

Marner and Strome are gone and Provorov is available at 6 and your team has Jacobs, Santini, etc to dangle as trade bait, you trade down? I take Provorov and make every young D man not named Larsson or Severson available. Strome or Marner is available its a non issue, but what if? Provorov instantly becomes our best prospect hands down. I take him, and if someone takes him ahead of Hanifan I wouldn't blame them. |

Never thought of like that. Proporov would indeed be your best prospect. I know some on here are fans of Rantanen or Brazal. They might be the safer or smarter pick in terms of need. Proporov is very good, better than those two. Tough call. |
