With all due respect Ty, anyone with a brain could see that Chara was hurting in the final few games after that akward block and collision into the corner.

In fact, everyone with a brain could see that he probably shouldn't have tried to come back with that knee injury that was clearly not healed.......even if he was getting a little better over the last week before the shot block.

But the far more relevant questions are.....

How does that explain the issues we have heard rumored about his hip over the last few years?

Does THIS FRACTURE explain the inability he has to turn and keep up with speedy skaters to his outside? An issue that has been apparent for a few years now with anyone with "eyes."

What about the fact we were crushing the Hawks in the finals for the first few games and there change in "game plan" to attack (hit and hit hard at every chance they had) Chara in the corners during the finals instead of trying to avoid him?

And finally, the most alluring and sneaky question of which no one on the planet has asked...........

The fact that he it the LARGEST hockey player in NHL history and that he is also going to be 39 at the end of next season?

He is great.....a hall of famer.......but wtf!

He has another year of being a pretty good top pairing D-man and then maybe a couple years of being a 10-15 min mean bastard bottom pairing guy.

That's the reality......not a slight. But, a realistic "calculation" based on "history" and biology......

First off, Ty was reporting an injury wienerhead. That's his job. Teams divulged injuries after the season is over and people report them. Secondly, before you decide to be a douche and post the above crap, i suggest you go play in traffic first.

You are insanely negative about anyone over 25 y/o. The knee is scary but if Chara enters next year anywhere near 100% the top pair of he and Hamilton will be one of the better in the league. Non issue

When he returned from injury this year, he never looked quite right putting pressure on his left leg. I think a lot of teams caught on to this and started pushing chara to his left side, forcing him to pivot that way. Couldn't tell you the number of times I saw Chara spin around to his right trying to catch forwards that were skating to his left. He tried to spin all the way around instead of shifting the weight to his left side to stay with the skater.

Marks for bravery (or stupidity). Playing through something that can be very painful shows a great commitment to the team. Chara may not have the same legs he once did, but at least he is showing a 100% commitment to the team, more I can say about some of the efforts from the forward group.

Well I was joking. I wouldn't deal Chara. To me that's a stupid move.

Soderberg is a UFA and honestly I let him him walk. I think one of the biggest problems perennially with the B's is too many guys are consistently inconsistent.

Yeah I suppose. The team will have a younger look next year with so many guys leaving. Honestly I have a gut feeling CJ is going to get fired. Cam will hire a new GM and say "your job is contingent on getting a new coach". Seeing as though he wanted to fire CJ earlier this season.

If that does happen, will be curious to see if the B's can find a more consistent game with a different system.

I have a feeling they're going to stay internal. I think it's most likely going to be Sweeney as the GM with Bruce Cassidy coming up from Providence. That means Julien will be gone and most likely hired(hopefully west) almost immediately.

I don't have much of an issue with the system or Julien. It's worked and has been working. In any scenario, Julien being let go is garbage.

Chiarelli was the one who needed to go. He built a great run but ultimately fell in love with own guys, now the cap is hosed, and the teams future due to bad drafting is bleak.

How is it stupid to trade chara? Where's the logic? the guy makes 7 million a year at almost 40 years old to provide subpar defense. The only thing that would be a stupid move is another GM giving up something of value to get him

Besides, this is Bergerons team now

Who is playing defense? Where are you getting top defenders from?

EDIT:
The Bergeron comment makes no sense. He's going to play D now?

I agree, you don't fire the coach because of one bad season. I wonder if Houda will put his name in the hat for the coaching position IF CJ gets canned. He has been around the organization for almost 10 years as an assistant. (I believe he was hired in '06).

Not really sold on Sacco being an assistant and I am kind of scared they MIGHT give him the reigns.

I think he was referring to the true captain of the team.

My question then is: With a roster choking with mediocrity, bad contracts, a depleted defense core, and an abysmal farm system we're WORRIED ABOUT (frank)ING LETTERS?!

Worried, nah. Although I wouldnt mind drafting one of the top 3 D men in this draft. More than likely wont happen, but a guy can dream.
