Good luck with fatherhood Colin. It changes the world for the better and makes those tough days easier to put up with!
Thanks for putting up with our female doging when you had to focus on life and thanks for giving us and the trolls something to talk about!
Perhaps its time you participated in the blogs rather than write them... don't be a stranger |

Colin Dambrauskas: My Final Blog - Calgary Flames 2014-15 Season - Colin Dambrauskas
As for the season, outside of not winning the whole damn thing, there's not allot to complain about with this team given the expectations the fans and media placed on them at the beginning of the year. Now the the bar has been raised though, the expectations increase...
To me we need to address the D after the first (two) pairings as well as goal-tending.
D: Gio, Brodie, Russell (Wideman), after that, pretty weak.
Goal: Ramo, Ortio, Gilles. Hiller is trade bait.
Questions:
Does Hudler get a contract extension? Does Ferland get a regular roster spot. Bennett at center or on the wing? Who else makes the jump and who gets shipped out or demoted?
Big draft this year and as much as I'd like to have one of the top 10 guys, I'm okay with what we did an the number of picks we do have... will be an interesting (and shorter) summer... |

I think Jones needs to be swapped out for sure, as he was invisible during the Ducks series.
Ship out Hiller
Re-sign Ramo
Hudler was a key cog on the first line, so signing him is a priority I think.
It will be interesting to see how the young guys progress next year. If Monahan keeps improving and Gaudreau can eclipse what he did as a rookie, then we should be able to remain successful.
Addressing the bottom pairing is critical. It would be nice if we had some bigger D back there. |

Well (frank), now I'm left with these nut job flames fans? You at least were normal, but that gang of miswhips is a whole other story.
Good luck in the future, enjoyed reading your blogs even if it was based on the Flames. |

I honestly think that the best way to address the bottom pairing is to move Wideman back there and find a better defensive partner for Russell.
Wideman's at his best when he plays sheltered offensively oriented minutes. Playing 3rd pairing (with a guy like Schlemko or Wotherspoon) could be a perfect place for him. |

Exactly why I had him in brackets above. I'm curious with Wotherspoon and what he does this summer. I'm sure he got a VERY clear message that he needs to take the next step or he'll be another Baertschi...
I can't wait to see what camp looks like this year! |

never read your crap so you wont be missed - all mighty oil
Why would you even come on here to say something like that? To make yourself feel better? To make the oilers fan base look poopty? to make yourself look like a doosh? If you never read his "crap", then how do you know it's "crap"?

besides maybe morrisey we don't really have anyone pushing behind Spoon right now.
Based on how morrisey did and because he's a college product I could see him battling spoon for that last spot next year.
Is it a trade high moment for Wideman? He played well last year, and stepped up went gio went down. But if he's an offensive specialist I think he can be moved to a team that needs D that can move a puck.
That Big RW is a large missing piece out there. Hudler on that top line was great, but in the years going forward JG needs a bigger body to play with so that we don't get perry/getzlaf lines pushing them around.
queue The coyle trade :O
Raymond....done. Let poirier get his minutes or granlund.
Jooris...stock is high. on those bottom lines I'd rather have bigger bodies like Bouma/ferland/poirier/staj/jones. With a bigger Bollig, wolf or shore rolling in as needed. If raymond is untradeable his minutes will be down there too.
Byron....I think the playoffs showed he's an extra man out there.
great season. and collin thanks for the blogs. I'm cringing if we go back to the old bloggers now
