Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Draft Combine, TSN Draft Rankings, Building a Winner As we start to hear more about the draft-eligible players doing their thing at the draft combine in Buffalo, TSN has released its draft ranking list, and we ponder how the Tampa Bay Lightning have assembled a winning team in a short period of time.

Draft should be very interesting this year with player movement and perhaps some picks changing hands!! The Canucks need to draft a kid with a high skill level, no risk, no reward.

And a miss would result in a bunch of bi-polar cg's calling for JB's head for the next decade.....

No, but it would be one more strike against him in addition to Miller/Sbisa.

Benning is supposed to be a draft oriented with his strong history in a scouting role so yes we should have decent expectations from him when it comes to drafting.

I think we have had our fairs share of Swedes . I would not mind drafting a North American . I find Swedes world play is dropping off as of late. There are some skilled players but I would rather draft the next Johnny Toews. Can you do that please JB?

Why can't Ekikson Ek be the next Toews? Anyways don't we already have 3 of the next Toews in Hovat/McCann/Cassels....

What is a cg? and wouldn't it only be Bi-polar if we are one day praising Benning for his draft picks and the next hanging him for it?

Regardless, this summer will show Benning's true colors (and upper mgmt) is he serious about a youth movement or if we will see status quo.

Benning could draft McDavid and the bi-polars would still call for his head.

That's why they would call for his head.

Think this blog needs a refresher on the definition of bi-polar. If you hate moves from day one and still hate them then that's just being correct, not bi-polar

Nah, he's just Sbisa-polar, everytime Sbisa is on the ice, Nucker take a shot. Every time Sbisa gives away the puck, Nucker takes 3 shots. Every time Sbisa is on for a goal against, Nucker slams down a 1/3 of a bottle. By the time the game's over, Nucker is so drunk and depressed he wants to kill himself, but never can make it past two steps to grab the gun to shoot himself before he passes out.

Benning is somewhat handcuffed with the NTC's; so I think next summer is more important than this summer, just my opinion.

Benning is only handcuffed if he lets those NTCs expire. They are not his contracts

Why NBC would put that turd Dreger on the air is beyond foolishness. The guy is a regurgitating mook imo.

Never gets anything right about the Canucks or teams on the west coast for that matter without vomiting up whatever he's heard from other people. The guy is totally clueless.
