Cue Oilers fans their poopty trade proposals. At least the Islander fans produce logical trade offers.

Floridas second round pick and a conditional third if he hits 60 points lol. All kidding aside what are the Bruins needs besides cap friendly contracts ? Are looking for young defenders, wingers, centers ?

D would be nice, if there was an upgrade to be had. RW is also a possible need. Pasta helped that but I am not a Smith fan, so he can leave with Lucic for a team that wants to take on 9M in contracts

I think Lucic just had a down season and I don't buy into any of the "wearing down because of his style of play" crap. He's 27, and he's fine. Everyone is entitled to a down season

That's a really good point. Every player has had a down season. Also throw in the fact that it was a low scoring season league wide.

Regarding him "slowing down" because of his style of play, I think that's nonsense too. They said it about kesler a few years a go, and he just put up a pretty decent regular season while taking a lot of defensive responsibility, and he tore it up in the post season.

They really cannot take any contracts unless they're ELC, otherwise Hamilton will be offersheet-ed. Cap situation is not looking good in Boston.

Lots of teams in bad cap situations, all you can do. Good to see what Sweeney is made of to get himself out of it.

If you can move Lucic, Kelly & Smith and get a good return overall it's a breath of relief for them and could create a lot more room to get creative.

(frank) Florida, stick with the Flames & send him West young man.

How about Wotherspoon, Granlund & our #45 pick? Granlund is a centre but played a fair amount of wing. Hartley gave him a fair amount of ice time & seemed to have lots of confidence in him. Ironically, both Wotherspoon & Granlund were the the 2nd rounders we picked from that trade when Rangers stole Erixon from us. Now we just send thank you cards. The #45 pick will get you another good young player at this draft & then don't worry about any Dougie Hamilton offer sheets from them (frank)ing Oilers. We could punish them &the Canucks regularly.

My biggest beef with Lucic is how much he will command after this season, otherwise anyteam would love to have him. He is a rare breed of skill that will beat the poop out of you. I really cannot think of another player like him right now, besides simmonds, but Lucic is much meaner.

That would be a deal that I think both fanbases would be upset at then excited about later. Completely unrealistic but I'm not really trying to be

Yup. This is my biggest problem overall with keeping him.

We need to shed salary and we need to restock the prospect pool. He would help with both and if we keep him and then sign him the Bruins will be a mediocre team for the next few years. (Lucic overvalued, a 40 yr old Chara, and an aging #3 in Seidenberg are sucking up almost as much as Crosby and Malkin!)
