Oilers need a goaltender and D why shouldn't they be in a rush? If they don't move on this issue they will suck again this year as well!!! |

Can't see it coming down. Talbot is the only decent back up NYR have and if Lundqvist gets injured again, I don't think they'll be in the same position as they were last year without Talbot. |

Ya, I'm not sure what the rush to move Talbot is from the rangers perspective, they have a very good backup in place. Do they really want to downgrade that position to potentially upgrade somewhere else or save a couple 100K? |

That's good then, one goalie off the market. Over to you Ottawa! |

Didn't realize Ramo was on the market as well. We'd be lucky to get a 2nd for Lack at this rate. |

So many names in play.
Dubnyk, Neimi, Talbot, Enroth, Lack, Lehner, Neuvirth, Ramo as well as some potential moves in Riemer, Bernier, Lehtonen, Gibson, Crawford, Howard, Jones...... |

Yup. You can add Craig Anderson to the list if that's who OTT decide to move. |

Might be a possibility in a Lack deal?
The Buffalo Sabres' contract negotiations with Mikhail Grigorenko appear to have stalled.
Buffalo wants to sign him to a two-way deal while Grigorenko's agent is demanding a one-way contract. Meanwhile, the threat of Grigorenko bolting to the KHL looms over the talks. "Their expectations of a contract are a little different than ours," Sabres GM Tim Murray said. "They feel he's NHL ready. We feel he needs time in the minors, whether it's 10 games, half a year. That depends on what kind of summer he has." Murray also noted that Grigorenko would have to be placed on waivers to be sent to the minors and he would likely be claimed. He was holding that up as a reason they shouldn't fear a two-way deal, but by the same token that also means that the Sabres don't stand to gain much by trying to force him to sign a two-way contract at the risk of losing him to the KHL. |

Never was big on Russian players b/c of the KHL thing, but that would work. Something else would need to come into play to recoup those picks though (Maybe #3 for pick #31?)

I wonder if the perception of Vancouver is they are easy trading partners for goalies. This is the second or third goalie circus in recent memory, and all goalies dealt were sold for pennys on the dollar after a long waiting period. Maybe teams are kicking tires on others knowing if they wait long enough, Vancouver will cave to avoid more goalie issues? |

Does it matter, many of the teams looking for goalies have cap space.
Lack, Talbot, are currently at that price and I wouldn't be surprised if the others were close to that other than Dubnyk and Niemi. |

i'd do that deal.... heck they might even go for Markstrom for Grigorenko. Both are in similar situations in terms of not being able to send them down without having to go through waivers |

Both Van and Ott have to move a goalie, Ottawa could move any of their 3 while Van only will consider 2. I think Lehner and Lack both receive less than what their fanbases want because of this. |

I don't mind acquiring Grigorenko for Markstom, but I can't see Grigerenko earning WD's trust enough to have a spot.

JJ is talking about Bickell being bought out, any interest here acquiring him on the cheap or signing him if he is indeed bought out?
Would you move Bickell for Higgins?
Would have to make the additional 1.5 million work.....
We take on some salary but get a physical player with a bit of scoring touch? |

I like the idea of moving Higgins out for him, but at the salary he is paid I don't think Bickell will be worth it. He would be expected to perform as a top 6 player and I cant see him doing that. But a good player if we can sign him post-buyout for the right price and role |

Don't we already have Kassian and Gaunce coming up. We are not competing for at least 5 years, bringing in players by trade or UFA makes no sense.

Depends who you ask, mgmt seems to be saying we will compete while bringing players in.
It would be nice to be in a position to take advantage of Chi cap problems. |
