They aren't. That's not to say they shouldn't listen to offers. If another organization decides to massively overpay for him, then sure why not. I don't think the Blues are shopping him, just listening. |

I'm not impressed with our offseason yet. Army better change the makeup of the current team or we will be in same situation next offseason |

not sure of the Blues cap space, but the only reason to consider moving Shattenkirk, is to make sure you have space to get Tarasenko signed, and the package is unbelieveable. |

What about the team do you think needs to change ? (Who).... Give me the whole breakdown. |

I'm thinking it should be Oshie, & Backes that should be traded ! Between the both of them no showing in the playoffs, Backes fighting with Tarasenko, & being a horrible captain, & Oshie acting like a diva ! I just think if, we can rid the team of them, the rest of the team would be better off, & it might inspire them to perform better in the playoffs !
HELL ! Who knows ? Maybe it inspires Backes, & Oshie to play better in the playoffs for whoever they get traded to ( The Curse of the Blues ) ! |

Oshie has to go for sure
Backes fighting with Tarasenko was just a heated practice
Stop blowing one incident up and making it sound like Backes beat the crap out of Tarasenko on a daily basis |

The Blues have about 14 million in cap space to sign Tarasenko, Allen, Bortuzzo. Not a huge issue |

I wasn't trying to blow nothing out of proportion . I was just saying, it's a little messed up that he'd want to fight more in practice, with a teammate than, fight for his team in the playoffs !
It's crazy to think that he can get up for that, & not the playoffs . |

Have you ever played the sport on an organized team? These kinds of things happen A LOT more than you might assume, especially between two guys that are ultra competitive. It's a heat of the moment type thing and usually over.
Also, playoff stats - Oshie is the worst of he, steen and Backes. Steen and Backes are a toss up. Oshie should go. One of Backes and Steen go in the right deal or they get one more chance, imho. |

It happens more than you think. These guys play hockey for a living, and tempers get heated.
Oshie and Berglund need to go, and Backes needs that C pulled off his jersey.
As far as D, JBo and Petro are more expendable than Shatty. No one in their right mind is going to take on that ridiculous money we pay JBo though. |

a Healthy Jbo is actually underpaid
so lets hope he is healthy
and they will not strip Backes unless he is traded
You do not do that to a guy like Backes who leaves it on the ice most nights
Just because he didnt prodcue doesnt mean he wasnt a good leader this is what drives me nuts with blues fans |

used to get into fights with teammates at practice all of the time and afterwards we were best of friends again. hockey has a lot of emotion built up into it. after the moment most people realize it as just a battle and respect each ther more for standing up for themselves. |

How are you liking your General Maaner now? - Trust In Jarmo
Well i for did not want to pay an old dude. I do not know what a Maaner is but I think I know what you meant.
He just looked a lot better after watching Jarmo give away a ton of talent for a half of a ton that costs more than ton of it. |

no matter what...unless he has an unreal season and even then, you trade him at the deadline and get prospects. no matter what. not as good as hull or demitra but has value and should not walk for free especially since he has been mostly mediocre here. |

I hear this a lot, but I honestly don't see examples of it that often anymore.
A leader makes the players around him better. Brings the coach's message to the players - I'm reminded of the "optional" skate after Game 3 which was a horrendous performance and virtually no one showed up - is that leadership?
He will go out of his way to fight guys smaller than he is, so there's that.......
I'm pretty much done with his act. |

So your one example is an optional skate that was poorly attended to say he is a bad leader?
I get knocking him for his lack of production and I see where you are coming from but one ptional skate does not make him a bad captain
I think if he is moved back to wing we will all be happy with him as captain
Just my thoughts
and him fighting smaller guys is hockey
Getlaf fights smaller guys is he a bad captain?
Phaneuf? bad example but he fights smaller guys
Brown?
