Great article Mike. It's great to get some insight on the Americans. I had no idea the Stevens would feel like that and wasn't aware they are still having so many issues. I know the previous regime left Rochester in favor of Portland ME because of the financial issues but I didn't realize it was ongoing.
I imagine the Amerks are sort of a tough sell in Rochester because many fans would probably drive to Buffalo for a Sabres game. Also that Blue Cross arena is not a great arena by any standards. It's a really old building with nice concourses, small bathrooms and terrible seating and there really isn't much else they can do about it. |

I liken Lamoreillo taking the Laffs GM job to if the Bills hired Polian. Some Leafs fans will love the hiring cause the name and track record, others will hate it because he's old school and his recent track record hasn't been great. Very similar to Polian, if he had taken the Bills job |

thx...since Pegula took over, attendance has steadily increased for the amerks according to stevens...last year was just a total mess from the big club on down...
stevens is well aware of what's going on and he's really taken it all in stride |

Another excellent article about a field that doesn't get much, if any, coverage here in WNY.
I had no idea the difficulties facing the Rochester Americans. Thanks for the insight Micheal.
It wasn't long ago that most Buffalo fans were fearful of Rochester getting a new stadium for our Bills due to their superior economic development.
Terry and Kim Pegula are the most amazing blessings we have had in WNY with honors going to the Knox Family and Ralph Wilson for their Vision to build their clubs here. |

I'll be off Nash cabin. 1 acre only but backs up to 20 acres of woods. Will be a nice quiet street on a cul de sac |

Minor league sports are always a tough sell to begin with. Lots of turnover and the best talent always leaves. The AHL is made worse by the age rules governing who can be there and the restrictions on players having to clear waivers to be sent down. Plus I can't really match the correlation between parent team(NHL) and AHl affiliate success. |

thx, mebs...key point that was in the first piece in that kim Pegula is from fairport, just outside of Rochester, and her parents still live there...kim is the president of pse...i can't see her or terry allowing the franchise to fall through the cracks...they're too important to the big club...once things settle, one would think that they'll be a first-class ahl franchise in the near future |

everything seems to be in a state of flux at that level, yet everyone involved understands that and works with it....
am of the belief that Pegula, murray and co. want to load up for bear from buffalo to Rochester...and Elmira too |

You "Raining" insight today my man!
P.S. I knew Kim was from southern NY but I never connected Rochester to her |

As am I. An Amerks cup run would be even more exciting now under the Pegula ownership. I actually love the idea of them playing more in Buffalo during the regular season though. I always go when they come. Amazing value and they always bring their "A" game |

You are on the right side of the street! Huge tax savings, rather that starpoint taxes.
That area is so nice though, out in the middle of nowhere feel but your 5 mins to anything you need. |
